Shame, the later episodes knit everything together nicely and sets up well for future seasons. having read the books and played the game I think they did well at opening up the world in season one.

Are the books worth getting - watch the TV series and if someone hadn't explained that the minstrel was in a previous time I would not have carried on with watching.

They are worth reading yeah. I read them after playing the game and really enjoyed them.
