I think it's precisely because of its length that 50 years on the album still has iconic status.....I never tire of listening to it.

As a postscript, Brian Southall has a book published tomorrow on the album, it's making and a social/cultural look at 1968 and the times it was made.

Plus Ray Connelly has a John Lennon biography published soon in time for Christmas.
