The way we're playing...

O’Brien is the definition of dead weight in my eyes, mate. We’ve seen enough of him to make a judgment no? If it’s solely about spare bodies / injury cover in his position (what exactly is his position???) one of Diamond or Hawkes staying on and him going to Donny would have been more fruitful. Maybe Benji even, on last nights showing he offers something more than O’Brien in the final 1/4 of the game when the latter would generally come on. Just IMO.
Benji over AOB anytime. Benji has the talent and is unpredictable. Sheffield Weds didn’t know how deal with him.

Exactly this

Could anyone honestly say they felt confident going up and staying up with Wyke, Dobson, Scowen, Power, McFadzean (shudder), Leadbitter, Remi Mathews, McLaughlin etc hovering around our 1st XI?

When you see that line up it's difficult to comprehend how some people are still failing to grasp how far Johnson and the staff have taken us in such an incredibly short time.

No. That's a ridiculous post. As I said in the actual post I love the thought of a midfield of Neil, Embleton, and Pritchard. However I can see that for some difficult games that we may need someone who can break up play better than those, and so one defensive midfielder - Winchester would be ideal but may be needed at right back - would be needed. But feel free to make sarcy comments about things I never said. Bye now.

You’re deluded mate, never go back, we’ve got so much better since they’ve been gone

Im not suggesting we purchase them back, just that they had merits that would have been useful at times this season. Im not sure their replacement in Evans has proven value over them or that we have enough physical attributes in specific games.

Obviously, it isn't the best time to be discussing the merits of the team after a 5-0 victory as it appears now were beyond brilliant. Perhaps I can do it again when we dip in form and everyone is suggesting we're beyond shit.

Im not sure how I am deluded but I Imagine that is a symptom of said delusion.

Play your best players available and nine times out of ten you'll come out on top. That's my philosophy anyhow. We're scoring more than one or two a game regularly so don't really have to grind out results like we did with the plodders.

If we can out football the league then great, I wouldn't have thought it possible but given we are where we are at probably the worst time in the calendar to do so, I'm probably wrong.

I think Lee Johnson took on board what Arsenal were about, perhaps him and Arteta had a word after the match.

Little subtle differences mean a lot.

I think four years of League 1 and shite players has sucked the optimism out of many of our fans.

I just thought a physical scrappy team would be far easier to accomplish, especially in a high press. If you look at the last 9 teams to have been promoted from the league, 6 or 7 were predominately aggressive physical types.

Think the coach deserves a large amount of credit to have us in this strong a point although I wouldn't be surprised to see it dampen somewhat.

Also, we were/are very fortunate In a sense of the rapid emergence of Dan Neil.

There's not usually many good skilful ball playing types in this division (as our midfield personnel over the last few seasons has shown us) so that's perhaps not very surprising. I think we should make the most of what we have while we can personally.

Seriously man, most of the players we have out, (Mcgeady, Onien, Huggins, Winchester, Broadhead, Willis) or enough for the starting lineup, (Cirkin and Hume) would arguably walk into the starting lineup of any team in this league. I can't think of more than a handful of players across the entire league that I'd have before most of ours.

In all of the games Scowen and Dobbin played for us, they never ever played as well as Evans or Broadhead did last night.
Evans was the epitome of somebody who knows how to break up play. Never put a foot wrong. I barely recall Dobbin ever putting one right.

We MUST strengthen, we have to make sure we go up automatically
If we fall short we will lose a few of our best players and be back to square one

Thats fine, we just disagree on our assessment of our players. I certainly believe dobbo and scowen had better games than Evans did and broadhead wasn't playing nor will for some time I believe.
