The Waterboys

Fantastic gig in Stockton last night.

From memory the songs they played were:-

Bang the Drum
Love & Death
Island man
Trumpets
Mist & Snow
Weary Land
Where the Action Is
This is the Sea
Girl Named Johnny
Ladbroke Grove
Dennis Hopper
Fisherman's Blues
Pain Within
Medicine Bow
Whole of the Moon.

Great venue too, eh?

Didn't want to say owt but I saw them last month and they STARTED with Whole Of The Moon! Made me chuckle. One way to stop people shouting out for it all through the set!

Finished with Whole of the Moon last night as the encore.

Good venue like a smaller version of the Sunderland Empire.

I like these three especially, but I've found them a bit difficult to get into. I've played the Fisherman's Blues album the most, but I've so far found the albums a bit meandering and the style changes make for a clunky greatest hits.

I might chuck together a playlist of their current setlist on Spotify to see if it's any more accessible.

I'd love to see them play the Fire Station one day

Always reminds me of Ku Club, Whole of the moon used to be played at the end of the night just before the lights would come on and everyone had to fuck off
