The use of the word "scum" for mags

We don't really use the term scum that much, the only use we have of it as far as i can remember is when we win a game (we beat the scum 5-1), which is more a play on when you lot sang it i think, particularly when you beat us at SJP 2-1 2 years on the trot.

Nobody says "have you got your tickets for the scum?" it is always "have you got your tickets for the mackems?"

you lot say scumderland all the fuckin time

Skunks for me, half me family are skunks, couldnt call them scum -
And my daughter has just got a part time job at the SDA working matchdays  , Still at least she spends her money watching the lads :).

Anyone else uncomfortable with it?
I see scum as burglars, rapists, nonces etc, NOT rival fans.

I've not read any other part of this thread..............
My answer; No problem at all with that at all.......sticks and stones etc......
Burglars on the same level as rapists & kiddie fiddlers  Think again mate!!!!

no problem at all with calling them scum as it is technically corrrect 97.5% of the time.

95% of them are scum
100% of them are The Scum

so call them scum or the scum and you should only be wrong 2.5% of the time (on average). fair odds in my book.

The best we can come up with is Kopites are Gobshites. Hardly Oscar Wilde, like, but it's not bad.

When you "checking out" of this place fella? As a decent mag I dont mind you but when the mag clowns turn up it can get prickly pre-derby

Few days before and about a week afterwards. Seems sensible to avoid the very worst of it all. I'll check back in after the dust has settled, regardless of the result.

Black and white bastards, barcodes, un-washed and skunks would have been the order of the day until as posted earlier, the media re-named them for us in 1990.

Bit daft us both calling each other scum like, not very imaginative. Still skunks for me though.

rapists are scum, ok, but its also what collects around the watermark in the bath. id put newcastle fans somewhere in the middle of those two, so we're on safe ground i think.
