The U.S. and U.K. Were the Two Best Prepared Nations to Tackle a Pandemic—What Went Wrong?

Perhaps our assumed preparedness was part of the problem? Plus an assumption by Boris, at least that we would sail safely through the virus and come out unscathed by the virus because we are a first world country and British to boot!

I don’t think they recognised how vulnerable we were right from the start and thought that our involvement would be sending medical teams and equipment to the third world countries that succumbed to the virus.

Haven’t read the article yet, will leave till later when I’ve got more time however the title certainly goes against what many On here Believed and argued For many weeks that we were badly prepared

It's a bit too early to say which countries will come out of this better but US and UK are probably two of the most unfit countries which didn't lockdown early.

Agree, uk didn’t lockdown early enough. Population wise, uk is below average for smoking and alcohol consumption, but would imagine above average for carrying too much timber and eating processed food
