Have they nicked that from some American news broadcaster? It just seems Americanish, best thing about it is trying to spot Carol.
 
It used to be "it's time for your local news" but clever buggers like me would shout out "i'm on my holidays in cornwall, blah, blah, blah".

At least "the news where you are" is accurate.
 
Tyne tees news presenters also present the Cumbria news.
Discovered this on a family holiday at centre parcs.

Both "live" at 6pm.
