The system.

He hasn't got confidence in the players to either play 442 or to get them to press further up the pitch - which is a real concern for our forthcoming relegation battle
He was telling them to move higher up the pitch for the best part of 90 minutes man, the players were fucked, they have themselves to blame for that, It's the same old scenario and it plays out season after season, it's not something new.

Regardless of whatever,no way should we be playing with one up top, them games are for the likes of the big guns.Dont get it now and never will ,even the passing around is starting to go,so many long balls to noone yesterday

We cant play 442 because our midfield isn't powerful or strong enough to cope, doesn't matter what system we play poyet gets critised anyway, it was the same formation as mags game and we won that, everytime we get beat people are out in force to slag the team off. We are a average premier team who are going to win games and lose our fair share people as we always have, people need to wake up and realise that
So we play the same way away from home where we would be happy to get a point to playing at home against an inferior team with players missing where a draw would be rather dissappointing. Also considering that hull would have loved and played for a point yesterday. They went down and changed their style after 20 mins yesterday

Why will Poyet not change it? Regardless of opposition of situation?

It's a strange one for me. Hull were lacking everything today. We have them the opportunity for a foothold in the came. Slow, predicable and boring.
Because he's bloody useless.

It's our back four and cattermole being poor yesterday but manly the Southampton drubbing and pantilimon being in goal means we don't play from the back anywhere near like we should.

It's a negative approach to the game, Fat Brucey has us sussed every time we play Hull.

Just press us high up the field and we will concede play, it's that simple. Poyet doesnt have an answer for it.

To be honest, you may not be far off with that assessment. We do struggle with significant pressing. That's when we need quality to play, quick football.

Although I think that people these days go way overboard with claims of managers being 'tactically naive' and all the rest of that phone in bollocks, no way was the way we were set up having gone a goal down the best way to get a result when we were 2-1 down at home to one of the worst teams in the country, who were only looking to defend.

We didn't need three central midfielders, including one purely defensive midfielder. We didn't need the worst centre forward to have played for the club playing on the left wing, running around in circles away from wherever the ball was played because he didn't have a clue what he was doing. Even with the starting line up and subs that were chosen, we could have gone with two attacking full backs (Jones and Larsson), two central midfielders (say Cattermole and Alvarez / Gomez), two proper wingers to stretch them (Buckley and Johnson), Fletcher up front, with Giaccherini playing as a second striker.

It's hardly gung ho, but it would have provided much more attacking threat than what we were left with.

We won't make progress in these sort of matches until Poyet realises that 4-1-4-1 with an isolated striker is very easy to defend against in circumstances like yesterday.

It's slow out from the back. So easy for the opposition to defend against.
But it's not just that because being slow out from the back should be the easiest thing in the world after you've been gifted a goal, what bugged me is we've started to launch the ball forward more, just giving it back to the opposition we could've just kept the ball and let them ask the questions buy instead we gave them everything they needed to grow into the game, territory, possession, and a stupid goal to concede, literally everything was wrong and we now need a result at villa

from comments expect a draw at best , i would be delighted to come away with one

Poyet has already had little digs that what he has struggles with it , a good coach would adapt his hand accordingly and not be so pigheaded

I'm not convinced Its not Poyets fault. The squad lacks pace and quality and few players are reliable

Its not about the system its about the quality of players, Chelsea play the same system but have better players going forward therefore they look more dangerous
