It matters hugely. We do not want another one man band coming to SAFC and when they make a fuckup of it they retreat into their shell and the family silver is sold as they have no one else to turn to.

He isnt a diehard fan and he isnt interested in taking us over so the analogy is not moot.

I genuinely don’t think it does. A good owner with an interest who surrounds himself with competent people would work just fine as it does with plenty of other clubs

Edit: or herself

its not a one man band in a good team it is as it is in bold. surrounded by competent people

that is what ES didn't do, he spunked over 100 million pound away. he didn't want to obviously but he must of been told by somebody it was a good idea to buy those knumbskulls,

so those person (s) who did were obviously not competent

Pic of William O'Brien in a Newcastle shirt doing the rounds on twitter. Head in hands on desk at O"Brien HQ after Man United result in November

Correct. And Short wasn’t interested or hands on enough to stop things spiralling. He turned up for the good days but was rarely seen in the bad. That’s the sign of a poor owner. I still maintain some sympathy for him. But for an experienced businessman he didn’t half balls this up. I think his intentions were always good but as said, he didn’t appoint good people to run the club.
