The Strawberry is just a normal boozer as far as I am aware.

Wouldn't go near the place on a matchday, but been in plenty of times after work. Alright pub, sells real ales and there aren't enough good ale pubs around so hope it does stay open (which I think it will).

Tbf the Strawberry isn't a bad pub. I've been in a few times and its canny

I've been in once, and it was alright, just a normal pub. I'd imagine it's similar to the Colliery Tavern

The 5-0 game I assume.
The one whereby I got a Sunderland fan nicked in the Luton travelodge despite the fact I was in the Northampton travelodge.

:lol::lol::lol:

Nah nowt to dee with me

The Strawberry is a good boozer - I've been in on a matchday and I haven't seen any of their loons in there......I have worked with some of their daft lads (and been for a drink with them) so I know who they are.

The Adelphi was always a different matter.

£1m buying famous Tyneside pub The Strawberry, saying it was the final piece in the jigsaw for its proposed multi-million-pound, mixed-use development on the surrounding land.
What's it famous for then ?

just for being in Newcastle is my guess.

I was in the night the mags took a kicking off us after the Hull away game (Dec08 iirc) and it was quite funny to see apparent hard lads sitting in silence sulking into their pints :lol::lol:

nothing to suggest they are going to close it like? a mixed use site with a travel lodge etc etc bound to have a pub attached for hotel punters etc

didnt know it went for a million quid mind... i bet the landlady is over the know with that like!!

and the strawberry is a scarfers (if stupidly full) pub on matchdays not HQ for any of the 'lads'

there is one of those hooligan books about spurs top boy(s) and in it there is a great chapter about the day they 'took' the strawberry from the grips of some scarfers, tourists and students....:lol:
