The stewarding and arrangents for away supporters at Stoke

I wonder how it would go if theatre goers were given the same treatment. Footy supporters are paying through the nose to be treated like shit. I was there back in the day, but that was then and this is now and it needs to stop.

I paid around the same amount to go to the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday evening ....... the difference was enormous.

The crowd was huge and excited but the staff were polite, cheerful and incredibly helpful.

We made a point of speaking to the 'head steward' afterwards and asking her to thank the staff.

She wasn't in distress and I've already said I want no further involvment.

People seem to have shared her experiences and I've advised them to contact the link.

I said I'd post something and I'm a man of my word.
Honourable of you to help out a lady like that.
Imagine her delight at finding a member of ReadyToGo who could sort out the issue for her.

My fault now is it? - I never brought up Hillsborough or the 96 - im relating to me recovering from serious illness, a disabled OAP, an OAP and a lass - four of us who travel to all games and rarely have any issues. This day we were all split up and fought our way through a packed concourse to meet at the seats.

I tell you what mate, I'll apologise to you for our stupidity, leaving you to your Reiver-baiting and to hell with everyone else.

What do you mean by 'your fault'. I'm not at all saying that.

I agree that it was none of the fans fault at Stoke. How could it be? The concourse has a shit design. I was trying to highlight that hen you see cases like this, and it's clear that the issue is poor stadium design/ stewarding, you should realise that in other cases e.g. Hillsborough the same is true.

Not saying the fans there were stupid - or did anything wrong (?)

She had already sent photos and a message to the http://www.fsf.org.uk/contact-us, I doubt a little forum like this makes much of a difference.

She asked me, and everyone else in hearing distance, to spread the word and I have ....... no need to make a big deal of it.

The concourse is always rammed even more than usual at an away game that goes down to 0 points/general sale for some reason. People who can't normally get a ticket for an away game make the most of it when they do and drink and behave like they're in Ibiza or summit.

General sale at away games seems to bring a small minority of proper scum out of the woodwork too. There was some right bellends in our end yesterday like making some really embarrassing pro Johnson chants and racist comments.
Unfortunately heard a couple of absolute idiots racially abusing N'Doye. These 2 fans are regulars at away games too so not the type you describe. They're often on the TV highlights with their tops off.

Did they have them off yesterday?

The police were great tbh and seemed embarrassed by the stewards where we were.

I was surprised at the amount of police outside the away end after the game though, do you think they sometimes have Stoke acting up?
I wasn't at this game, but spent time talking to the police last time I was there. I think we were being held back to let some busses through at time, but they were really friendly. The stewards weren't so, if my memory serves me well.

There certainly appeared a lot more police presence than you'd normally expect for a fixture between us and Stoke. I remember there being bother at their stadium before, but it was the late 90's.

Also, stadiums not selling booze at half time is so infuriating. I really don't see the point in denying folk a pint.

Some grounds don't sell it at all!

.

They were at Norwich and decent lads apart from the BNP style stupidity.

My son asked them if they'd abuse Defoe, who scores, before N'Doye who doesn't, as he's a bit blacker.

They just looked at him as if he'd asked them about Monet's garden ....... we blanked them yesterday.[/QUOTE]

I think they're an embarrassment but hey-ho. Can't knock their dedication following the lads though.

On leaving the ground I asked a steward which bus queue was for the train station.

He kindly directed us to the wrong one and we ended up missing our train.

Nice one !
