The stewarding and arrangents for away supporters at Stoke

The concourse was absolutely packed like. It was murder trying to get a pint, so much so that we didn't even bother attempting at half time and we always have a beer at half time.

Must be murder being at a football match and having someone stood in front of you obstructing your view.
Do you think it is necessary for dozens of stewards to stand and block the views of most people sitting in the first 2 or 3 rows? I thought it was a pointless exercise myself and only served to antagonise people, whether intentional or not.

We were in The Terrace and amazed at the police presence outside, they almost matched the amount of Sunderland supporters.

I was thinking the same. I took my pint outside to sit in the sun and at one stage counted 14 of them. A lot more than in previous visits.

I really f***ing legged mesel up at half time.

I went to go to the toilets and thought better when I got to the bottom of the stairs.

But a disabled fella, multiple sclerosis by the look, latched onto me and asked if I'd help him get through.

What a bloody clart on

The ground is of a very poor design. The toilets were too small for the number of fans using them, the concourse was rammed, our seats were at the end of a row nearer exit 38 but we were told to use exit 39 because they've put seats in what should be an exit gangway. And there was a whole row of seats unused in front of the disabled enclosure because fans doubtless stand up blocking the view of those behind.
Admirable that they are considerate of fans with disabilities but again highlights the poor design of the ground.

Twins ;)

When my son asked that they waved over a senior steward and told him we were 'acting up'
Your facial hair is more dapper and distinguished marra.

On a more serious note stewards were OK with us - women folk had bags searched. Agree with inside - mind. Concourse packed, having to fight way through. As three of us had been there before it was easier to just split up and meet in our seats as trying to get refreshment or loos was going to be a problem. Mind you concourses at all aways are like that nowadays. I say it was decided best to split up, in reality there was no choice.

I agree with you totally regarding the stewarding situation you describe, I was being a bit sarcastic and ironic regarding the standing in front of people, as you well know there are those that go to football matches that for whatever reason can't stand for 90 mins but are often met with abuse when asking the people in front of them to sit down.

Fair enough. I wasn't entirely sure what you were getting at and I agree with you on your point.

They weren't selling beers at half time so you did yourself a favour.

Only having one kiosk selling alcohol was stupid as well, all it did was create a massive bottleneck at one kiosk whilst virtually no one (and i mean less than 10 in 30 mins) used the other one. Shite system.

We didn't have any problems like.... we got there and walked away from the ground... copper stopped is and said the pubs were full and to go to the ground..... we just said I and ignored his advice went up to some pub.
