The stewarding and arrangents for away supporters at Stoke

The stewards were probably correct as all football fans are hooligans iirc.

Worse concourse I've seen is at QPR. Almost impossible to get along it to the far end.

That's the worst we've been to in many years.

The narrow concourse in the upper tier and no leg room between the rows of seats made we wonder how long it would take everyone to get out of that stand if there was a fire.

I know they're moving but Upton Park is horrendous too. You can't move when going for a pint/piss at half time.

We had to go in the QPR section, near our fans, and it was just as bad there plus they have a surprisingly nasty element in their crowd.

We were then allowed to approach the turnstiles to be searched and I was asked to open my coat, which I did. I was then asked to take that off and open my Sunderland hoody. When I objected, on the basis that I'd been standing in the rain for 15 minutes, I was again told that my ticket would be taken off me.
us

always remember an Asian steward searching me entering Wembley then he asked me to remove my winter hat so he could check it which i politely told hm to fuck off.

And as do I by then posting this... etc etc.

Since I'm the one derailing this thread atm I will gracefully bow out of it for the evening. Talk soon xxx

Stop being so disrespectful to the disabled, old and women at Stoke today by scoring petty points

Got thoroughly searched by the police going in to Goodison park in about 91 on a weekday evening he was saying stuff like 'my drug nose is working well tonight '. It was far enough though as I looked like a right scruffy hippie type back then. Didn't have anything on me like and it was a good night despite losing.

I limboed into the ground to a round of applause from the stewards. I proceeded to moonwalk to the bar (no queue) and was given a free pint as apparantly I "have a nice smile". Nice one Stoke.

the thing that everyone has to remember about stewards and security guards

is it's not our fault that they failed their police entry exam or medical

rather than berate them publically perhaps a sense of overwhelming community pity would help them

I believe there are no qualifications required to be a steward of 30, 40 or 50,000 people.

Yet a doorman needs to be vetted and licensed to preside over a few hundred.

Could be wrong, I'm just guessing ............ it's been a long time since I've lived in the UK permanently.
