I watched it because of that cast and was sorely disappointed
Just watched first 10 minutes of A quiet place. It'll be a ten for sure
  2. Fred Army

    Fred Army Winger

    Isle Of Dogs
  3. Cypher

    Cypher Winger

    Ghost Stories 8/10.

Part written by Jeremy Dyson who was part of the team behind The League Of Gentlemen.

It's like a extended version of a Inside Number 9 story.
  4. Batdad

    Batdad Midfield

    Ready Player One.

  5. Enjoyed it until I figured it out on Case number 2.

    The Red Turtle (2017)

Animation about a man stranded on a desert island and his interactions with a large red turtle.
A beautifully animated, interesting fable. A bit of a head-scratcher, mind.
Pricey and Howard the Duck like this.
  7. Dagzd1973

    Dagzd1973 Midfield

    Strangers (2008) - 5/10

it's the kind of film that makes you check your doors are locked at night. Also the annoying kind of film that makes you scream at the telly "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING YOU STUPID WOMAN, RUUUUUUN!!!"

Anybody ever set themselves a goal of number of new movies to watch in a year?

I realised I only watched 41 last year, which works out less than one per week - pretty shabby.

I've had various subscriptions rotating - Netflix/Amazon/Filmstruck/Flixify and have been plowing through unseen ones almost every night.

The year's 100 days old today and I've managed to watch 80 so far - Movies watched in 2018 - IMDb

    The Seventh Seal (1957)

A knight coming home from the crusades lands on his home shores. There he meets Death (Grim Reaper).
He makes a deal with Death to extend his life temporarily so he can see his wife one last time.
Over the course of the film they play a game of chess while he travels through his country in the grip of the Black Death.

An interesting concept, which I liked more than the finished movie.
A young Max von Sydow is excellent as the knight.

  18. HABA87

    HABA87 Winger

    Den Of Thieves.

Ok if you like that sort of thing, which I do. It got a bit silly in places, especially the end.
Starring Gerard Butler as fat Martin Riggs.

It's not as good as Triple 9.
