The SMB Movie thread 2020/21

Saint Maude - I'm really not sure what to make of this, I had it in my watchlist as I must have seen a trailer. I really liked parts others not so much but wouldnt want to grade it low as its really well filmed

I sort of enjoyed it but no sure I could recommend it, worst review ever I know

I'm 32 minuted into 'anti life' with Bruce Willis and I'm struggling, thinking I have give it 20 minutes more than its worth. Anyone watched it?

Just to confirm with this, it's absolutely shite. I have watched loads of B and C movies in my time and this is up there with them. What on earth is Bruce Willis thinking.

This is one of the 50 pence a rental films I used to get from Nevilles video shop or Ziggys.

Bruce does some crap films but his major big budget films are fantastic. Nicholas Cage does the same thing. Good for them I say but its mostly a waste of time watching their bland films.

I watched one with Willis as the bad guy up against the kid who used to be the lead in saved by the bell, well the last half hour as I was strangely intrigued. Bruce just does any old Shite nowadays, his last decent film RED?

Just me zi suppose but avoid anything with him in the cast , cannot stand him. I have a small list of actors I just can’t watch ) using the term actor loosely ) Stallone, goldboom, segal, van damme , willis, Connery and one or two more.

Stowaway (Netflix)

Give up watching after about 15 minutes.

A Call to Spy (Netflix)

Quite enjoyed this, read up on the main characters after watching to learn more about them.

I mostly enjoyed it, 3 hour. That cannonball scene was horrific

The traitor

skyc cinema

italian film based on the cosa nostra and the story of thommas bruschetta who in the early 80’s turned.

canny if you into that sort of film. Stars the corrupt politician from suburra film.

Mortal Combat - Do NOT sit down with the kids to watch this. It's pretty brutal in a computer game way, I actually enjoyed it and funny in parts, which for someone who is not a computer game to film cross over bloke, it passed an hour or so. 6.5/10

Nobody

7.83/10

Like John Wick without the slick sheen (a good thing) mixed with a touch of History of Violence, and given a wry sense of humour.

Was a bit weird but really loved it, the way it follows the protagonist into madness...liked Scarborough as the backdrop too

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - 8/10 was a bit lost at first but got it in the end

Sound of Metal - 9/10 a brilliant film, the bloke who ran the deaf place was absolutely superb in it. One scene I believe he was genuinely upset coming from a deaf background.

Nobody - 8/10 easy watch and canny funny bit like John wick meets home alone

Halloweentown - 6/10 used to watch this as a kid on the Disney channel so stuck it on the dodgy box for a laugh after an edible

Watched last night. Really good. I think I know the scene you mean, after Ruben walks out? Very convincing.
