The SMB Book thread

Victoria by Knut Hamsun. On the surface, a romance, and lost love. The way this short book is written and the end is both beautiful and devastating.

One of the last books I read, along with 'The Guvnor' by Lenny Mclean. Decent, but not great. Just 2 books of anecdotes really. I'm not big on autobiographies tbh.

Already have it. It was the first book I thought of and downloaded. Loved the original film.

The Stand looks like it's a must-read for me.
Sound like you like horro type stuff try silence of the lambs, Thomas HarrisHarris

Blood Meridien - Cormac McCarthy
The Road - Cormac McCarthy
The Stand - Stephen King
Lonesome Dove - Larry McMurty
Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh

Read them all, you'll not be disappointed.

Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell is an old favourite of mine.

Swan Song by Robert McCammon - I read this recently and really enjoyed it.

...and another shout for Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. I'm constantly re-reading these. I always read Hogfather at Christmas.

Oh, aye The Aquariums of Pyongyang was really interesting.
Swan Song is very very good like.
