The "Singing End"

Its the ground they have to walk though, and tbh there is much better reason in the other stands: on the walkway between upper and lower they have the wheelchair areas, and the height between the walkway and the last row of seats on the lower is low so if the folk at the back of the lower tier stand the guys in wheelchairs cant see. and those lazy fucks never stand.

We'll see. I hve no agenda here, just an interested observer....i mean, basically, a football club have (unofficially) promised a set of fans that if they move to a specific area (where the club wanted them) they will let them stand - something which is aginst the clubs own published regulations.
Interesting to see what happens.....not a WUM or trying to cause problems....just interested. Id assume for example that those whove moved from the SS after a few games cos they didnt like the people standing around them have had the normal seat moving fee wavied.

Anyways, as long as the atmos ends up what we all want!!

think the south stand and swc will be rockin next match against the mags ,standing row 9 south stand today to be fair there was not much to shout about the sections of the stand seem to be singin the same songs but in different sections instead of been altogether as one starting from the swc along to south stand lets be combined for the scum

I sat in the South Stand for the cup game and expected it to be far better when the league games came around.

I guess it's still early days, versus Liverpool I could barely hear the South Stand, although that had more to do with the volume of the away support above me in the North Stand than anything else.

Today however with a far far quieter Wigan following i was really expecting the noise to travel and for the South Stand to raise the roof today, however other than the odd chant it just didn't happen from what i could see/hear.

There seems to be little pockets of lads and lasses that really want to make it work but they are so far apart it doesn't join up into a good sound, there appears to be a lot of folks sat in the south stand that have no interest in it being a singing stand.

Definitley a work in progress and one that i really hope comes together and works out.

Just my opinion like, no doubt others will fell differently

Exactly it's new and hopefully it will get going. I'm only saying it has a way to go yet which I suppose is obvious like.i got threatened of the stewards which is a new one on me like

Re: South stand shite

I was in SWC today and the SWC made more noise than the South Stand. I could hear the South Stand whenever it sung and the SWC sung more today especially in the second half.

because thats exactly what its about, a pissing contest between two sections of the stadium, grow the fuck up, we are all aiming for the same thing yet a helpful post of 'we were betterer neh neh neh neh neh' adds fuck all but makes you look like a sad tragic specimen.

Problem is there are some at the back who just keep singing any old shite that the majority don't want to sing or don't know just to say they are standing and singing.it's like " oh look at us were all singing you're not "
It's like interference when a chant the majority want starts up. Basically they are trying too hard, no fans in the league sing 90 mins and to try is counter productive,
The mingolete chant did gradually start to get away today though

im in row 9 and when the south stand start singing and you turn around and look up it looks awsome think some people on here must be at another ground to me

should close it down and move the away fans back in imo, silent as dormice licking their bollocks and should throw out all the standers....that would sort out this lack of atmosphere we have...or at least improve it.

Has a f***ing long way to go. Was told to sit down by the filth and a steward as I was in row 8 and we were the first row standing. The only songs that got going were anti mag songs. Seriously can we not back our f***ing team. There was plenty good tries to sing for our players but were ultimately drowned out with stand up if you hate the mags

Please promise us that you wont come back in you nobjockey.

North Stand - heard fuck all from the South Stand again apart from one or two chants. Hardly heard the Wigan fans either. The whingers and moaners were out in force though.

Exactly what I was told and he was taken to task over it.

"Stand and you won't be here for the Newcastle game" what a f***ing tit. As if that twat will keep me out.

I'll ignore the abuse but the stewards and coppers were in the front few rows telling us we will be barred from the derby if we didn't sit down.

Stop f***ing lying and just repeating other people's posts. It's sad as fuck you posting all these threads about your big day in the city. You'd think this was your first ever football match the way you are going on.

The atmosphere was poor today, it's always going to be, against a team like Wigan. After 35 minutes of half hearted chanting, the teams performance lost the fans, it seemed as if people sensed another afternoon of negative football was about to be force fed to them. I'm in the swc, and the noise didn't travel well today, there is Huge potential in this idea, but as fans we need a performance and excitement from the pitch to have something to shout about!
