The seasons only emphatic low…

Diamond Eyes

Full Back
…so far, and it’s May next week. 46 points with 4 games to go.

A night to forget amidst many days and nights to remember. If we had to make a deal with the devil at the start of the season we’d have taken this loss if it meant we got the pts we have.

Let’s move on to Wolves and see how they respond to it.

When we were 0-4 down last night I said to my mate, in the grand scheme of things I couldn’t give a fuck here. We’ve done our job, more than done our job. We are disappointed about not getting European football

I’d of taken 17th, stopping up on goal difference with a goal off Luke Oniens chopper.

Was expecting many days like yesterday after promotion to the championship let alone the prem.

That pasting we took at Bolton was a little over 4 years ago. We have a similar trajectory to that defeat over the next 4 year would be canny.

Im still proper pissed off but if someone told me in august we’d get humped 5-0 last night id presume that would be a result to send us down.

Till now the team hasnt looked capable of that sort of collapse.
I think if we were being told we were being thumped 5-0 at home in late April, I would have assumed a potential attempt at taking our point record back off Derby. I was genuinely worried about just being this seasons Southampton.

Port Vale also, weird season like two massive lows in amongst a great season.
I reckon Port Vale was a trillion times worse then last night like personally.

This was similar to West Ham away for me. Obviously not great but it happens in the PL when everyone is really good and anyone can punish anyone.

We could get in the champions league and we’d probably still have a hammering in the league at some point I reckon.

I was thinking more of the PL season and our best XI against someone else’s.

We’ve had a few disappointing results but there’s often been mitigating circumstances.

Loss at Burnley second game in was poor, particularly given the season they’ve had, but in mitigation it was their first home game after promotion and probably the worst time to play them.

The heavy defeat at Brentford - again it was at the end of a gruelling run of games over the festive period and we were having to manage an AFCON depleted squad.

The worrying thing about last night is the game came when we had a pretty full squad to chose from and not too long after a three week break.

Port Vale. West ham.

West Ham away?
Thought that too, add Burnley and Fulham away possibly. Brentford thought we looked knackered and like last night shit happens.

Didn't expect much at City, Arsenal, Man utd but Villa last week was disappointing, thought worth at least a point.

In the end, decent season, just a pity few more wins and Europe might have been within reach. Feels so near yet so far.
