The scale of our demise

is absolutely breathtaking. Forget the 7th in the Premier League stuff of Reid's days just look how far and fast we've dropped from the end of the Allardyce reign.

We've seen the demise over the years of some great old clubs at the hands of "dodgy" owners-the Oystons at Blackpool, the Russian fraudster at Portsmouth and the Venkys at Blackburn, the whole Rangers saga but Short is surpassing all of that lot in his inability to manage a football club.

No money, falling crowds, corporate sales gone to hell, binning the ladies team, relegation zone and we're trying to attract a manager from...Barnsley.

Take a bow Shorty lad. This is epic.

You have a long way to go to match us.
No club comes anywhere close to us though, best in the land by far.

Well I bet those clubs didn't go 11 months without a home win and led at home for more than 2 minutes in that period.

Fecking disgrace.

Do we create championship history if we can't beat Millwall - if so what is it? Days since home win seems obvious if it is.

leeds from champions league quarters to league one in a few years. boro from cup finals to relegation. pompey from fa cup to nearly out of business etc

For some clubs relegation can be a blessing, clear the decks, wins some games, build some upwards momentum.
For us, keep the shite players, loan out the good ones, get beat every week and develop a spiral of downwards shite.

We all know our next managerial appointment wont bring about a keane style change around as well.
no we dont

We became like Coventry in the 90's. Hanging around the bottom of the Premier League, escaping relegation by the skin of our teeth every year, but also making everyone else despise us in the process.
We are once a likable club with passionate fans. We're now a joke and we've had the life almost rung out of us. No one other than ourselves is sad to see our demise.

Feels like we could set a world record for the demise of a top division club. Nothing will change until short changes

Hell of a nappy crapper we have here, no money as previous managers have wasted on top of us sacking manager every year, crowds and corporates will fall as we are in the championship not premier league, focusing on core product not so bad but I would have retained the ladies team, it is what happens with no funds and trying to introduce austerity measures which should have been started 3 years ago, If the manager does the job couldn't care if he came from Africa

Are you suggesting Short didn’t try at any stage if his tenure to put the club in a better place. Sounds a bit playground that argument mate tbh.

Its not the scale of our demise, more the scales falling off peoples eyes on here.

It changes on a result on here, it matters not cos we beat the mags 6 in a row, you make your own luck, deserve where you finish blah blah blah.

The fundamental problems at the club have been there for years if you had cared to look, the reality is its a miracle we stayed in the Prem as long as we did and used up a fair slice of luck in the process.

The loan system, when you have 5 or so 1st team regulars on loan you have issues, it may of served the club well in the short term but its done us no favours in the medium long term. Especially when the philosophy is to fill the team with "free" players of same ability and attributes.

If the performances are generally crap then sooner or later it comes home to roost. We survived because of 2nd half seasons against some teams that had nothing to play for and outstanding performances from our keepers including Mignolet, Pants and Mannone, its not a coincidence that our 2 biggest sales have been keepers. We survived under Dick at Everton with deflected goals along with keepers performances.

Our transfer policy is a joke, paying way over the odds for crap and resigning crap on better contracts, the list is endless.

People are surprised we are struggling why, players were crap in prem, crap in championship. Haven't done the maths but I suspect more teams have finished in front of us that have been promoted than finished behind us during our time in the prem.

There has been a lot of straw clutching going on , people reading far too much into end of season performances and ignoring the rest.

He's picking up the pieces alright. Made no end of shit decisions.. Beggars belief really that such a successful businessman could be so bad at owning a great club like SAFC. "If we build it they will come". There are over 45000 people willing to turn up week in week out if you can get your shit together ES..or any new potentiall owner.

Re-signing George Mcartney, bad. Then Anton Ferdinand for 16m plus wages....that was the start of it. The best transfer window for us ever was when Keane called in all the old guard from Ireland on deadline day.

I honestly feel we were on a crest of a wave there under BSA towards the end of the 2015 season. We all did.
Trouble is he put in all his money during the last recession when no one could afford to come and when they didn' he took a huff and tried to batten down the hatches.

If he started to got stupid money in again and built a team like Bruce was starting to build before he dismantled it, then I think we'd fill the stadium again!

Not saying he did (and is doing it) deliberately but the level of incompetence he is showing in the appointments he has made in terms of Directors of Football, Chief Executives and Managers is staggeringly poor for someone who is as successful as him in other areas of business.

Very true. While you’re here, what is the general opinion of West Ham fans re Moyes ? Optimistic, pessimistic, fuming, not arsed, what ?
somewhere between pessimistic and fuming, although to be fair he has talked a good game which has made the mood slightly better

Not sure what will happen if we lose the firts couple of games though

Just keep your fingers crossed he’s learned something from the clusterf**k he inflicted on us.
