The scale of our demise

It has been coming for years...staying up by the skin of our teeth, allowing poor players to linger about, letting the rot get deeper and hoping for a quick hit through bumping managers at the last moment.

Then once the floodgates opened..bit like needing that shite after a curry but being ages away from the shitter...then when it finally arrives...look out below
The best thing about that analogy is that, no matter how long it takes, the shit is eventually history.

You lot really did lose all perspective that night. You still ended up finishing fourth bottom. Hardly a surprise then that you finished bottom the following season. Having failed to address the core problem it's hardly a surprise that you are struggling this season.

Aaawww the wounds are still sore.

No mate we had a manager who had a clue and he`d put a good run of results together, something we hadn't done in the top flight for years. We had an up and coming keeper and one of the countries top scorers.

It wasn't unrealistic to expect a little progress the next season. The Dr Doom arrived.

We've seen the demise over the years of some great old clubs at the hands of "dodgy" owners-the Oystons at Blackpool, the Russian fraudster at Portsmouth and the Venkys at Blackburn, the whole Rangers saga but Short is surpassing all of that lot in his inability to manage a football club.

All 3 of those have had it worse than you

Kept us in the top flight for 10 years.

Something not achieved for 60 years.

Made mistakes. Of course !!

But give the fucker some credit for that at least
Some credit yes for putting money in but my God he's made disastrous decision after disastrous decision. You can blame managers for wasting money but who appoints the managers?

All 3 of those have had it worse than you
We're not finished yet.

is absolutely breathtaking. Forget the 7th in the Premier League stuff of Reid's days just look how far and fast we've dropped from the end of the Allardyce reign.

No money, falling crowds, corporate sales gone to hell, binning the ladies team, relegation zone and we're trying to attract a manager from...Barnsley.

Take a bow Shorty lad. This is epic.
He's picking up the pieces alright. Made no end of shit decisions.. Beggars belief really that such a successful businessman could be so bad at owning a great club like SAFC. "If we build it they will come". There are over 45000 people willing to turn up week in week out if you can get your shit together ES..or any new potentiall owner.

Re-signing George Mcartney, bad. Then Anton Ferdinand for 16m plus wages....that was the start of it. The best transfer window for us ever was when Keane called in all the old guard from Ireland on deadline day.

I honestly feel we were on a crest of a wave there under BSA towards the end of the 2015 season. We all did.

After going on a good run to the end of the season, including beating the champions, some of us naively thought that we could kick on, and maybe even compete with teams like Stoke and West Brom, maybe even reach the heights of 14/15th place.

We know more than any other fans about what a really shite team looks like, see the 18, 15 point and last/ this seasons team, the team Allardyce had organised was not one of them.

What do you think if our core problem and how should it be addressed?

Finishing 17th, then 20th and then currently bottom of the championship isn't that much of a surprise given that 5 seasons in a row the team failed to get 40 points. Fighting relegation every season then when it finally happens its understandable that whatever quality was left in the club finally takes off.

Equalled only by Rangers so far.

The turnaround is quite spectacular
Well I bet those clubs didn't go 11 months without a home win and led at home for more than 2 minutes in that period.

Fecking disgrace.

No-one can say the demise hasn't been due to arrive? It's been hovering around us for a few years, and the attempts at getting away from it have failed dismally so here we are

A few years ago if someone had said to you would you want Venkys in charge of your club then you would have laughed. Now you'd probably still say no but you'd think about it...same goes for Mike Ashley-the clowns up the road detest him but I'd have him here instead of our American mate.

The mags call Mike Ashley, I reckon he has done a good job. In profit abd an attractive business. Two relagations, apart from the top five or six in the EPL. Which club does not get relegated or nearly gets relagated.
