On a similar note this how Jimmy saville got away with it for years. People knew he was a wrong un but it was 'oh it's just his way' and he 'gives millions to charity' etc.

Is anyone actually saying these actions are permissible because of th charity money?

I think people turned a blind eye to Savile because of the money he raised. I think that is known that people were told not to rock the boat as the money was relied on
