Bought a knackered Nikon F601 for buttons - think it was £5.

The reason it was so cheap is that it has a plastic latch on the film door, and mine has snapped. Otherwise it's in perfect nick, but as the film door won't stay shut then it's useless.

So, can anyone recommend any practical way of keeping the door shut once it's loaded with film? The spring it probably a little too strong for sellotape, and there's not really anywhere to anchor a tie wrap. It almost needs a mini vice or summat. Any ideas?

Gaffer tape, a really short but thick lacky band, could try fashioning a new latch with some plastic or metal or you could put some stick velcro on the body so it can be wrapped arround the door from front to back.

Velcro is a good idea like, I'll give that a whirl.
