The fact that they put a Sunderland flag next to that far right tripe is embarrassing for both the club and its supporters. Shit like that drags us all down to their level. If i were the club, i'd sue the fuck out of them.

It has come to our attention that a video is being circulated on social media purporting to show the police escorting people from the Gala for flying the British flag. This claim is completely false.

This was a group of activists from the far-right group “For Britain” who did not receive permission to march and were seeking to disrupt the proceedings and hijack the Big Meeting for their divisive, racist agenda. Therefore, the police took the decision to escort them from the racecourse for their own safety.

The Durham Miners’ Gala is now and has always been, a celebration of trade unionism, unity and internationalism.

We ask people not to be fooled by those who drape themselves in the British flag but who are in truth, promoting a far-right, extremist agenda.

This Colin Raine chap is an odd one. A quick look at his social media and he's tipping up to load of poppy ceremonies, supporting the DLI etc. Seems to like being on camera and lapping attention up. He also likes filming as we saw at the weekend.
Sometimes reasonably turned out, often wearing a military beret. I'm yet to see any medals, even when others are wearing them, not even a general service one. Could be nowt, but an observation anyway.
