The "offside" for the Norwich goal

People have no idea if he was going to flag or not tbf. One thing's for certain the linesman has been pulled from pillar to post about that goal. Posters were certain other decisions he gave were shite too. Just goes to show how difficult a job is. I find it all quite amusing tbh. The know it alls will all go quiet now
It doesn't help that you never criticise them

You can see from that shot that the ball has not been passed yet. He was well offside for me and he clearly affected play dragging our defenders out of position.
I’ve slowed it down to 0.25 speed and then scrubbed through, that’s as close as you can get to him kicking the ball.

Here’s one well after he’s kicked the ball for reference

Fortunately it didn’t matter. It’s a lot tighter than I thought at the time and you can’t really tell 100% either way from the replay. The linesman was about to flag though, the Norwich player sees this then turns around in the opposite direction.

The reason the linesman didn’t raise his flag, ironically, isn’t because he thought the player was onside when the ball was played.

Watching it on the YouTube highlights a d pausing it when he kicks it he is clearly onside like. Even if he was off he was about 5 yards away from the ball when he started moving away from it.

I was convinced offside, but now I'm certain it was onside. Just goes to show how difficult a job the officials have.
Mind they don't do themselves any favours.

Definitely onside

When the ball is played, he is onside

It's an impossible job

I do marra but ultimately the vast majority of decisions I can see why am official might have made the call he did with one look from one angle at full speed. We are all experts after replays
You don't though Rob, you come on here week after week and try and defend them when they have blatantly made game changing decisions which have cost us points.I get they have a hard job and they won't get them all correct, but some of them should be nowhere near officiating professional football games, some of them I wouldn't let near a kick about in the park and those 2 twonks running the line today were hopeless. Even on here after a win usually the officials get the odd comment here and there but even you can see the amount of posters calling out those linesmen, even if he has got one of the calls correct by default, there was plenty that they got wrong , not just for us but for Norwich as well.
