The "offside" for the Norwich goal

Never reffed a game in my life
Fair play, there aren't many supporters who can see the game through the eyes of an official without their club bias clouding opinions. It took me a few years of reffing before I started to see the game differently. Even when mistakes are made, you can often see why they may have been made. At the end of the day, normal fans without that exposure, who only see what they want to see, won't be happy until robots are reffing, akin to something produced by EA Sports. The Norwich goal was definitely onside for the record

EA sports have you played a game of fifa?

Soon as you go 3-0 up every foul is given against ya cards all owa penalties not giving the lot 😂

I know some people are just being silly billies (@gipetto) but I'm staggered that some people, after seeing the stills, the videos, the position of the players after the ball has been struck, are still genuinely trying to argue that it's offside.

The more sensible debate should be about (and is by some posters) the linesman's intentions and the effect it had on Ekwah. It's terrible from Ekwah, and ultimately the linesman got it right, however I think we're all agreed that he was going to flag if Sara got 'involved'.

Again though, it just shows the difficulty of the situation.

I think that's the key thing for me. It's not just about did an official get that right or wrong. It's can you see why he made the call they did given his one look at full speed from one angle. The vast majority of times the answer is yes you can. Nothing but respect for you for getting up there and doing the job. The stick they come in for at all levels is shameful imo

I'm reffing the Mags women this afternoon, loyalties tested 😄. Nah, you're bang on, the stick they get these days is massively over the top, beyond ridiculous as we saw during the Boro game. Accept decisions and move on, I don't see why it's so hard for some of them? I only got involved in it because my playing days were up and I didn't enjoy managing. It’s a good way to stay involved and you're still out on the grass.

I think the blame lies with ekwah, regardless of what the Norwich player is doing he should be moving across to win the ball. Very naive.
