The new houses being built down Burdon Lane

We were lucky when we bought ours. Put a lumper down on it and with having a tracker and the mortgage going down meant we could pay it off early by upping the payments. Would hate to be getting in the ladder now especially with interest rates and the price of houses mentioned.
used to use burdon lane all the time, was a really convenient road for a lot of my journeys. Still annoyed its shut

Was a nightmare that road for looneys overtaking you at 80mph in the dark, surprised there wasn’t more accidents :)

One of the builders (pretty sure it’s Story) have already delayed their phase because of costs. All the subbies have been sent to a site in Newcastle. Bellway, Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson still chomping on

Aye, there was the odd nutter, thats definitely true. I often drive to Board Inn area from Ryhope/and back, so was really convenient for that. Now I often get snarled up in the school run via the alternative routes

House prices are absolutely daft. 300k plus for a new build 4 bed. The wheels are already coming loose, my own house has lost about 5k in the last couple months. On one hand I can afford where I am and it’s decent on the other I’m pissed off I didn’t move before the pandemic (not my fault like) as I’d have got more house for same money.

Makes me a bit miffed that the likes of east shore village went up 2003/2004 for chicken feed compared to what you need to get one now. There’s much better elsewhere like but you’re looking at 305k for some half decent chicken n a newish estate.

On paper maybe.
Only really relevant if you are going to sell it.

Nowt to do with costs, its to do with interest in sales. All will slow a lot soon unfortunately. Interest rates have killed the market
