Basically this, Stewart we could live with if replaced by someone like Cannon, but he won't be and now Roberts is off, along with Pritchard etc typical SunderlandStewart we can make do without but losing Roberts without a proven replacement means we are fucked.
BooWow living the dream. The mags must be well jealous tonight.
What type of business are you speaking of, exactly?Sorry but a good business model does not turn down Β£15m in profit now when they could potentially get Β£0 in 9 months time.

It certainly isn't football. Money in the bank never won a point on a football pitch.Charity shop
Regardless of any "model", there's no club that is going to reject Β£10m for a player who would leave for nothing in less than 12 months, after he has been unavailable for 37 of the last 50 games due to injuries.
Agreed. It certainly isn't football. Money in the bank never won a point on a football pitch.
There is so much wrong with that statement that it's difficult to know where to start.Itβs the clubs own fault/mismanagement that meant he only had 12 months left. If theyβd put a proper contract on the table for him when we were promoted, that cliff edge would have disappeared. As it is the fucked about, and gambled on things going a certain way. And here we are.
Weren't in the squad cause there injured ya loonMade Β£9m+ on Stewart
Might make Β£5m on Roberts
Neither were in the squad at the weekend and we got a draw against a team howβve spent huge and are expected to be top 6 minimum.
Will make future profits on Clarke, Hume, Ballard, Cirkin, Bellingham, Ekwah, Patterson, Rigg, Neil etc.
Still time for some additions and a more than capable manager at the helm.
Might not be the quick fire progress some are looking for but itβs a healthy way to run a club and a business.
Exactly. Brighton spent a fortune in order to become "sustainable" as did Bournemouth, Wolves, Fulham etc. Burnley spent far more than 10 times other Championship clubs did last season and are now trying to be self-sufficient. Even Brenford were paying Β£5m for players from League One level before promotion.Agreed.
I can half understand them wanting to recoup the money theyβve had to put in, but at the same time, Promotion would bring so much more.
I donβt get this whole βnot until 202Xβ¦weβre not readyβ. I mean what does that even mean?

Ah, thereβs an unwritten rule on here where you canβt mention Brighton spending.Exactly. It's code for, we haven't got a pot to piss inAgreed.

I've banged-on anout this a few times of late but, Brighton's Chairman was on SSN the other week, talking about Caicedo leaving and was non-plussed. He said they sign players when they "want" instead of when they "need" them - therefore they pay far less by replacing well in advance and are in pole position to sell for the price they want.Ah, thereβs an unwritten rule on here where you canβt mention Brighton spending.
Then if you continue you get told it was mostly for the stadium etc (itβs still money in!).
Which still doesnβt make an iota of sense, if they were serious and wanted the big bucks. It's code for, we haven't got a pot to piss in![]()
