The Model Works

4 games in and you’ve written us off?

So many ifs and buts to form an argument and project an opinion onto others. Oh and you laugh at your own jokes / comments?

Why are people so quick to dismiss and reject sustainability? Is it because you don’t want to wait to charge your car for the bigger picture benefits of the planet?

He is part of the model. He’s at the club.

Because we have seen our utterly terrible we have been in the transfer market over the past 12 months. We have needed a striker for 8 months to cover for our other striker who is about to depart.

How many clubs have been promoted with the average age of ours? If the owner doesn’t want to put any money in then he should look to get out. We’re not a play thing.

Made £9m+ on Stewart
Might make £5m on Roberts

Neither were in the squad at the weekend and we got a draw against a team how’ve spent huge and are expected to be top 6 minimum.

Will make future profits on Clarke, Hume, Ballard, Cirkin, Bellingham, Ekwah, Patterson, Rigg, Neil etc.

Still time for some additions and a more than capable manager at the helm.

Might not be the quick fire progress some are looking for but it’s a healthy way to run a club and a business.
It makes profit but we have current won 1 game and Leicester have won 4 out of 4 . Our aim was to get promoted and we are going to be nowhere near. Relegation is probably more likely

Have to disagree. The owner has spent. Not just on new players but new deals for our best young prospects. Oh and the window is not over. Will you change you opinion if we spend £7-10m in the next 24hrs?
Roberts wasn’t in the squad as he is injured…
This is true and my point.

Wow. We were in L1 just over a season ago and you expect us to be competing with essentially a premier league squad, who’ve signed premier league players with parachute payments and huge player sale cash at their disposal. People have short memories, we’re nowhere near.

Tony Mowbray has probably seen a lot of football related scenarios in his time as a player and head coach but unless some Amads are coming out of a hat by 11.00 pm tomorrow night the incompetence shown by significantly weakening the team will have a domino effect. Expecting a young inexperienced team to handle it without reinforcements is unfair and avoidable. KLD and Speakman deserve to be congratulated for improving the team since their arrival. However surely by selling Stewart and watching Southampton gain promotion due largely to him finding the net regularly won't be a surprise to Mowbray or the fans. Unfortunately the people responsible simply won't take responsibility for their actions. Meanwhile 40k plus will be disappointed as opportunities are missed. However until the transfer window closes the fans will be the judge and jury on what our recruitment and dismantling team have given our head coach to work with or not as the case may be.

The model is supposed to work by having players ready to move seemlessly into the place of the player sold. Who is seemlessly moving into Ross’s place , who would replace Roberts if he left ? The players who we brought in to do this have not been good enough or are nowhere near ready .
To be fair, Ross' place for pretty much all of last seasoon was on the treatment table. Mayenda has slipped seamlessly into that position with his first training session injury.

The electric car is a massive white elephant in terms of sustainability, before we get into the practicalities for the masses or the carbon footprint or the lack of available green energy and what it takes to make them and especially to mine the lithium batteries in the first place.

So too it seems is this model if selling your best players in the last 24 hours of the transfer window because you've allowed them to reach a point where there contracts have ran down, just before you get your pants pulled down on any incoming transfers - it wouldn't have any part in any kind of successful 'model'.

Just keep on clapping like a performing seal and believing what your told though.

Where have I said that?

However....

Stewart away
Roberts away
Clarke unhappy

We've signed an unfit 29 year old journeyman spouse of a reality tv 'star' who was free and surplus to requirements at a mid table championship club.

Gerrin.
Apart from the Dack bit none of the above has happened yet or in Clarke’s case proven to be true.

Never said it was a ‘massive accomplishment’. Just making an observation on the £15m we’re making not been taking out of a squad that was competing at a good championship level.
Tidied for you

Your thread is about Stewart and Roberts being away and us just making money man

Works in the short term, but causes problems and animosity in the dressing room in the long term.

We do have a player ready to move into Stewart's place already here. Mayender is an injured striker who is likely to be back at the end of September.

“Right lads here’s the plan. We sell off all our best players, and replace them all oh unheard of foreign children, with next to no experience or track record in senior football.

They’ll all obviously be mint, and we’ll end up with the league title, a load of money AND a sponsorship deal from Haribo.

I’ve thought it all through, and there’s definitely no way this plan could go pear shaped. Honestly.”

Sorry but a good business model does not turn down £15m in profit now when they could potentially get £0 in 9 months time.
I don't think it's the profit that is causing the chew its the fact that if they go we have no one who is anywhere near good enough to fill their shoes and 1 day left of a transfer window to find ready made replacements.
