The manager speaks .....

Quite refreshing. Did a very good job of steadying my nerves, at least. Biggest concern was that McLaughlin was on his way and I thought that he dsi-spelled that one quite nicely:)

You never get any further forward by doing it tho mate.

The new man wants his own signings so some of the previous mangers players don't get a chance, then he gets sacked and the cycle continues.

It's about time we stick with someone thru good and bad.

You're right but I think Villa last year did show that it can be done. Don't have to be appalling before you make a change.

Barnsley went up with a first year manager. Bowyer went up in his first full year & Luton lost their manager halfway way through the season.

Aye, some good examples but it mostly ends in tears. Look at the amount of money and players Villa have went thru, most club's wouldn't be able to sustain such costs and they nearly didn't themselves.

Folk are too quick to want to pull the trigger these days yet moan when when there's no clear direction...how can there be if you constantly change?

I'm just willing to give the bloke a bit of time, I think he'll come good after having that season and coming so close under his belt.

You're right and I'd agree with what you're saying if I thought we were building to something in the transfer market but feel like we're going to have a whoevers available approach again.

Looking at Norwich under Farke, thought they were poor first year, he had a style of play he was forcing on a squad that blatantly couldn't play it, second season they signed quite afew in the market, moved players positionally (likes of Stiepperman) and ended up winning the league. They weren't afraid to develop youth too. If i thought that was going to be us I'd genuinely say yeah give the lad another year.

Getting another year regardless I know but if the transfer window looking scattergun again then I'd sack him after a slow start, just because I'm not convinced that we're building to anything. Would use the January window to back up my argument.

On the other hand, Norwich kept on a manager who'd finished mid-table and romped on a tenth of what Villa spent.

This summer should be more settled than last as we did just need as many bodies in as we could get.

We've made a couple of signings which needed to be made. we've got a proper RB in and a GK to keep Big Jon on his toes. I may be wrong but I seem to think we're being rather cautious and thinking about what is needed over the scattergun approach last season....I guess we'll see by the end of the window.

Hopefully we can get off to a good start and everyone can get behind them

He could have had better answers for this mind

So why did you buy Burge & Conor

It was pretty much “They were free and available”

Yeah i heard that, he said free and available as thats the market we are looking in, or words to that effect.
