The main reason we will go down

Of course it's Moyes

He didn't have to blow £30 million of Shorts money buying utter shite

Was Moyes to blame for last year's awful start? How about the year before that and the one before that? For goodness sake we haven't won a game in August since 2010 and we haven't won in September since 2012.

Ellis Short is the common denominator.

He inherited the same situation as Sam left. He has made a total mess of it. How anyone can defend Moyes is beyond me.

And the situation Sam left was entirely different to the situation Sam had at the end of May 2016. M'Vila our cracking centre midfield player had gone. Sam hadn't sorted out a 'promise' he had made to Kone regarding a pay rise, many other players had left leaving us short of depth, the club had decided to effectively downsize, meaning any transfer money available was tempered with have to cut the wage bill. That was the situation Sam left not this rosy picture in your mind of this strong team brushing Everton aside.

Had a fully fit Cattermole and Kirchoff did he? Mvila? Kone playing out of his skin on the dubious promise of a massive wedge? Rumours are Sam was off anyway regardless of England. I wonder why when everything was so tickety boo?
Rumours started on here.

It was apt more Rosie until Moyes got his hands on it.

Hes been quite poor IMO. Managers have made something of a terrible hand before and he certainly hasn't done. Lets not mistake it as anything other than a terrible hand though and the running of the club in recent years from top down is a far more significant factor in our demise.
He's been very poor imo. We all know the problems the club have (Short)

However there seems to this bizarre reasoning that you have to blame one or the other. Thats isn;t the case.

We don't win games in August and September because of concerts in the summer. That's Moyes take on it.

Still people want the vicious cycle to continue by further investment. :) Take a look at our player recruitment in our 10 years in the PL; no good players want to join us and we have to pay a premium wage to attract even poor players.

We are better off going down, to a division in which we can be competitive. Our entire time in the PL has been one big misery, time for us to slip out. :p

WUM

That's a failure to understand basic football finance if ever i've heard it. If you are given 30 million to spend in transfer fees but have a squad 8 players short AND have to cut the wage bill by a third meaning you cant attract top end players. You dont really have more money to spend than previously.

Have you? ;)

So why did he sign 2 right backs and not play them

He signed a load of players we didn't need or want

Hull's manager has totally disproved all theories on moyes

If you have contacts and imagination then there are players out there

It's di embarrassing who he signed

I'm just quite stunned people still defend the bloke

I would agree with that. However the wider situation of the club being poorly run, haemorrhaging money like nobodies business, finishing 16th ish regularly on a top 8 wage bill, multiple sackings of underperforming managers, DOF one year not the next, CEO's not fit for purpose etc. Moyes being the first manager we have had in a decade to come in on the back of that AND at a time we have to cost cut massively. Any manager was on a hiding to nothing.

These are the reasons we are where we are. A manager doing a better job that Moyes might have 3 or 4 more points, I don't think there are many managers who would have done a MUCH better job given the circumstances. He deserves criticism but you are an example of someone who lays the blame at Moyes door much more than it is deserved IMO.

I don't think there are many who could do worse tbh, he's been that bad imo

Lack of improvement, simple as that. Two years ago today we were 4-0 down to Villa at half time. Things have only got worse since.

Has he really? I like the look of him mind but far too early to say that. Hull will go down, SAFC will go down and the main reasons they will both get relegated is because they have been run shambolically at the top. If Silva has shown himself to do a better job of a shite hand than Moyes that doesn't really amount to much. Ive no issue with criticism of Moyes, he deserves it but only a lunatic would have him primarily responsible for our situation.

Terrible hand? two decent players left out of the squad that looked capable of lower mid table at least. Moyes has royally fucked up, in his tactics and his buys, most of which were either finished or crocks, yet he's teflon Dave to some.

Sorry mate?

I think moyes is a good bloke, and a good manager. But he has messed up here in my opinion

Each to their own though.

Anyone who suggests the situations were similar at Sunderland at the time we brushed Everton side and at the time Moyes came in is thick beyond belief. One thing for sure, irrespective of whether or not the England job had come around, there was no way Allardyce was going to touch our job with a bargepole this year.

Poster called Johnson. Haven't seen him around for a while and you have a similar style!

I think hes done badly as well - just wider things more significant in my opinion.
