The main reason we will go down

I am being harsh, perhaps he'll improve with time or needs a new coach / manager to bring him on.

However, I watched Henderson at the same age and I knew he was player. The first touch was there, the range of passing, sharpness, he couldn't header or tackle but they can be coached. What can't be coached is having time. Henderson always had time, good first touch, a little feignt to buy him half a second in a crowded area of the pitch.

McNair I just don't see it.
I thought that Martin Smith would make it at the top level. Just goes to show my footballing knowledge :*(

Smith lacked a little pace and heart but he had quality. Reid blew him out for Kilbane which was criminal at the time (I've likened McNair to Kilbane, negatively).

Smith never made it elsewhere so either Reid bombing him out destroyed his confidence or he wasn't that good after all.

Smith's problem was his attitude imo. Had the ability, but not the application. Kilbane was so shite it was depressing :(

Here's my 'scouting' admissions.

Good - came away after watching Marco's first game, a home defeat against Chesterfield IIRC. Told my mate the kid had something. He chased a lost cause and stopped the ball going out for a goal kick. Led to nothing but it showed both his good pace and attitude.

Bad - I think after the Norwich defeat early in the season I was in a pub talking to this lad I played footy with at school. He was trying to put a positive spin on things and he said at least that Phillips looks canny. I said he's OK but no better than Craig Russell. He disagreed. I quite liked Russ but haway :)

My first memory of Phillips was on the radio listening to Gatesy, telling me that that 'he had a chance and failed, but the lad will try again'. I thought FFS when will we ever get a good striker

Putting aside lack of quality, injuries and shopping at pensioners/crocks r'us is the miracles of previous seasons. Players have a mistaken belief that they can turn it on for latter part of the season. I pray but doubt it this season. In most games thus far we have been outfought or outplayed. Please please shove this back in my face at the end of the season if I'm wrong. I would be delighted!
So you have no idea if this is the main reason or not.
You've concocted some amateur psychological hypothesis and suggesting it applies to 25 different people?
Ye gods

The main reason Sunderland will go down is the huge crowds don't behind get the team. When the crowd d gets clued up, no team is going to think it is an easy 3 points.

So what is your point apart from an attention seeking post?

Moyes.

Next.

The naivety or stubbornness of some people on here to admit to the fact is embarrassing.

Controversial but arguably accurate. Place is like a morgue. Crowd are up for derbies & we win them. Crowd are dead for none derbies, we lose...

... is because we've been without Catermole for the majority of the season. Criticise him all you like but he is our backbone, gives 100% and shames others into doing the same.
A team with limited ability without a leader on the pitch is destined to fail.

The club is one big f***ing joke from top to bottom and the twats at the top know that whatever shit that is served up on the pitch, 35k to 45k fans will turn up week in week out. The fans have been badly let down by the board and I hope someone with a bit of ambition and honesty takes over and takes us where we belong.

We had a fighting spirited team under BSA, we now have the doggyist dogshit that dogshit ever created under woeful Dave, a half decent team dosent turn into dogshit overnight for no reason..
We had spirited teams for the last few games the 3 years before that yet still turned to dog shit in the new season. Allardyce only kept us up because the mags fucked it up against Norwich and Villa.

Thanks for that enlightenment...!
