Don't really seem to care about our predicament at the moment.

Imagine the chronicle's reaction if the mags were in the same position, with a manager in charge who had mustered one win as we enter mid October.

The echo on the otherhand are choosing to publish an article focusing on Holloway's backing of Grayson. It beggars belief.

Fair point like.

The Chronicle were calling out Mike Ashley on the front page a few weeks ago for daring not to give Rafa any cash.

You would think after they turned a blind eye to Moyes' failings last season the local press would have learned a lesson.

Instead they fawn over Martin Bain for some unknown reason and are still completely out of kilter with the public on Wearside.

Its because it was quite predictable with our summer business and managerial appointment. Everything surrounding the club says apathy. Senior officials, management, players, supporters, local media; its everywhere. Its almost total resignation to our position. There is a stinking malaise and only something drastic will change it. The current board and management team haven't got the electricity in them to shock us back into life.

We lack dynamism at every level

What are they meant to publish? Not being harsh but even the fans dont appear to care? Why would they report and cause a shitstorm that doesnt exist? If you protested or threw plastic pigs or stood outside literally anything and you would get media attention. As far as they are concerned there isnt a story as you arent making one.

Lend us the coffin then.

What a load of shit.

I think one win so far this season and the manner of displays are more than enough reasons for them to be questionning why Grayson should continue as manager.

The Echo are too worried about having their access cut.

Worst case they could write a match report based on the highlights, interviewing fans after the game and watching Grayson's pre match press conferences that are posted online. Are they shown live?

I really don't see what major difference it would make.

Their readership is the fans, not the club. If they were banned, they'd actually become more attractive as an outlet in my eyes as you know they'd be asking difficult questions. Not quite sure why a local newspaper has to remain impartial where a football club is to be concerned. It should follow the approach of a fanzine imo.

Roker Report seems as though it's the only source that's actually telling it like it is.

The Chronicle is part of a bigger journalistic enterprise than the Echo, because of the existence of The Journal, etc. That means they can actually do more than regurgitate press releases, or send one person to the Magistrates Court every day. Any newspaper outside a regional centre will be the same.

All part of The Mirror Group aren't they?
