The last exciting managerial appointment was Moyes..

Totally disagree.

Beale is the opposite of what we need. No two ways about it. He should be absolute nowhere near our club and has done absolutely nothing to warrant a chance.

Other than he’s desperate for work and will likely come in on peanuts

Totally agree, there is some embarrassing shite being posted on here this afternoon.
This. Total meltdown this afternoon.

I’m not happy with this appointment, especially after speaking to my Rangers supporting mates, but stranger things have happened and we might actually end up being a good fit for him.

  • Had a very good reputation as a youth/U23 coach
  • People thought he was the brains behind Gerrard’s success
  • Despite Rangers fans thinking he’s shite he has the highest top flight win % of any manager in their history (and the predecessor club before some smart arse says “so since 2010 then”)
  • Coached in South America to broaden his experience

..that went well.

People need to chill the fuck out, most enjoyable time to be watching us since Reidys days. Surely KLD and Speakman are deserving of some trust based on their record so far?

If the direction is to chill the fuck out maybe we should have taken the mini bad run on the chin under Mowbray and not sacked him and disrupted "the most enjoyable time to be watching us since Reidys days".

But, no, the club didnt chill out. So if I dont like their change I'll not chill out either.

  • He had a decent reputation as a coach at Chelsea, 20 years ago
  • He proved he wasn't as he was sacked as Rangers manager after less than a year in charge
  • Impossible to use as a metric as he was at the club less than a year and was sacked due to poor performances and style of play
  • He went to Sao Paolo and the managerial team including him were sacked after 6 months

If it's him, and nothing is confirmed yet, I will get behind him. I never write a manager off before I've seen them.

But seems a bit strange to sack Mowbray to bring him in. Can only assume if it is Beale we've tried to hire others to no avail.

Surprised at the third one. Checked the stats and whilst technically true I wasn't left reassured, his win record was high because he didn't draw many games. He lost a lot.

I'm left thinking that he was sacked after ten months for a reason.

Yeah my Rangers supporting mates all say he’s shite, but I was trying to find a silver lining for this cloud

Win percentages are misleading though aren't they

Rangers and Celtic always win most of their games in that division so you have to look a bit deeper to judge managers. By all accounts they played poor football and his European performances were appalling (including a loss against a Cypriot side)

It also doesn't encourage me that he abandoned QPR only 3 months into the job

I thought my original comment made it obvious I was trying to put a positive spin on things but clearly not.

This is the sort of thing I'd like to hear more of.

I think Jack Ross was the last exciting appointment to be honest, a young manager seemingly on the up who could grow with the club and he was even currently employed.

I wonder if the first data set is 'must be unemployed'.
