We have had some unbelievable ups and some of the best moments supporting our club in all of our lifetimes.

This feels like the first time in that time frame that we've had a real gut punch. Its disappointing and frustrating in equal measure but 10 minutes before Diarras goal, not many would've anticipated feeling this way at FT. The togetherness and willingness to get back into that game by the lads was just outrageous and hopefully it doesn't knock us going into the last 5 games.

Still 2 points off 6th and we need to get behind them now more than ever.

Aye perspective needed. A few hearts might've expected points today but not too many realistic heads. Wasn't a terrible performance overall against a team who are 4th in the league.

We're still 2pts off 6th ffs with a relegation contender to play at home next.

Ok, today, wasn't our day.

We were lax and sloppy at times & made mistakes, and were punished by a team, sitting in the top 4 of the Premier League.

Look at the bigger picture though.

For the past two seasons, Villa have finished in the top 6, and qualified for European football, but to do that, they've had to gradually & steadily, build a squad, which was able to challenge/compete at the top end of the league.

We certainly aren't at that stage of our development just yet, and it will take at least another 2 or 3 seasons of gradual building & improving, to get to where Villa are now.

The very fact that we're facing Villa at this level and doing better than anybody realistically expected, in our first season back in the big league, after being in the EFL wilderness for the previous, 8 long seasons, is nothing short of incredible, and in two very close games against Villa this season, we've given a more than decent account of ourselves & pushed them all the way, and could've conceivably won both games, which shows the great strides we've made in a short space of time this season, and indicates we're definitely heading in the right direction.

This season, we've desrvedly picked up wins against Newcastle, Chelsea, Forest, and Palace, and have drawn games, against Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Villa (ALL of those teams, qualified last season, to play European football, this season)

With some decent investment/recruitment, a little time and some patience, we will eventually get where we need to be, and looking to break into the top 6, of the Premier League.

Today, we fell just short, but we'll hopefully learn from the mistakes & the painful defeat, and we'll improve.

Keep the faith.

I’m behind them all but currently unhappy with one player who let’s face it hasn’t justified his price tag at all

I had given up well before we had those crazy few minutes and had accepted second best in that second half. It’s just frustrating to have had the chance to win it and we didn’t take it by making a poor decision. Talbi simple pass we win.

If anyone had told me as I left Wembley thia would be the season we would have i woukd have asked for their dealers number.

Sat here gutted we didnt get at least a point today against a team chasing champions league football and us being so close to that race.

As the man said "let's get carried away man"

Young with development in him. That was always going to be the case buying youngsters. I think his injury set him back a bit as well
