The impact on ST renewals

If people go to the game solely for the football and not socialising it’s madness to renew, life is short.
I only go for the social side, a few beers before and after, the football is very much a sideline to the day.
It’s a reason to get out and meet friends.
If collectively all the lads decided to pack it in, I’d do the same.

If our wage cap drops then so what? We already have shit, unfit players who couldn’t give two fucks.

The financial and business side is the owner’s responsibility. He understands his potential customer base...if he can’t exploit that then that’s his problem.

What happens if you cancel your direct debit, do you just lose your season card, there’s no financial implications like them chasing you for the rest of the money ?
Didn't cancel but years ago I didn't have enough to cover the payment. The club sent out a letter saying I had to ring up and pay or I'd lose the remaining games on the ticket. Can't remember if they said it would affect applying for the DD scheme in future.

I think we'll be down to around 15k next season. It'll be the proper hardcore. I think such crowds would very likely see the closure of the academy and numerous redundancies. Sad, sad times.

He needs to be actively searching for a new buyer and he needs to have a realistic price. Once you've lost the support like this there's very rarely any turning back.

I think you're probably right. Murray and Short never made a penny out of safc and the sooner Donald realises he's not going to make a penny either the better it will be.

The one thought that always comes to me when I read threads/posts like this one is the subject of Loyalty points......if you don't renew, you lose your points.

If you're SC holder with say 10 points, then you've lost nothing. But if your an uber with 70, 80, 90 or well over 100 points you'd lose the lot and have to start all over again.

You wouldn't have to, if you came back after a year or so the points would still be assigned to your account so you'd get them back (minus however many went off at the end of the season cut off). But tbf even away games are a shadow of what they were previously. Prefer them to home games still because of the day out and the company etc, but a lot will probably start giving a good few of them up. If you still want to do every away then aye, you'll need a season card, but this thread is more about people who don't want to go anymore, not those who have a reason for wanting to renew! The number who are on 50 points plus will be relatively few, the club needs to worry because those on 30 or less will be a lot less arsed about giving it up and that's the vast majority of the support

Only reason I'll be renewing is because of my kids. They still think it's the highlight of their week and it's nice to spend some time with them.

Will not be renewing with the chancer running the club, if he sacks parky it will be another cheap option appointment so no point until Donald has gone, done the away games last season with my son after experiencing the 3rd tier football in 87, promised him it would be good, taking over grounds easy wins etc. That was the dream, Donald has pissed on my passion for the club with the way he has ran it... Cheaply.. See this season out and see what happens next year before I buy another season ticket

So sad to see but very much expected. I think even if we had a season like last season again number would fall through the fall just by being in this division for a third season.

The irony is that clubs that have a fraction of our income are out performing us, with players who earn a fraction of what our useless knackers do.

Seriously thinking of not renewing next season if we persevere with Parkinson.

It’s not so much the league we’ll be in it’s just the football.

Ive stopped getting any enjoyment out of it at all in fact now quite the reverse it just gets me down.

I feel the same. There’s nothing to look forward to, the football is dire and the club is in a poor state from top to bottom.

Problem is that they also have a fraction of our fixed costs. We don't have as much financial clout as our revenue might suggest, and that advantage will probably disappear completely if gates drop by as much as forecast.

This is the most apparent thing to supporters, I just wonder what our owners perception is. We should have gone for Ainsworth, Parky is yesterday’s man, a bloke who has confirmed his mediocre ability well before he got here. Ainsworth has to prove himself elsewhere but at least he looks as though he’s up for a challenge to improve himself. Parky has the grim appearance of only just surviving being his goal and that just isn’t good enough for SAFC.

So what...financial clout doesn’t help us beat Bolton.
