The happy clappers have had their time

I know many disagree with me on here, and I’m fine with that. I don’t come on as a WUM, despite many posters attempts to portray me as such.

I genuinely, passionately and feverishly despise seeing SAFC out of the PL. If we get there, and I’ve said this before, you will not see me complaining.

All I want is to see the club get back to where I think we belong, and I will argue till I’m blue in the face with anyone who disagrees.

I’d also buy that person a pint, because they’re a sunderland fan and I think sunderland fans are salt of the earth, whether they agree with me or not.
Good post

We're likely going to qualify for the playoffs when few fans expected us to at the start of the season, why would anyone want to protest/rock the boat now of all times? We need to get behind the players, they need our support, complaining isn't going to help at all.

I know we can’t say for certain, but I really cannot see how this squad at the moment could possibly win a two legged tie against any of the sides currently in the playoff picture. We just don’t want it badly enough.

I agree with the sentiment of the OP too not giving @DonaldDownTheWing any grief whatsoever.

Just people saying he's only saying it cos of the mags winning is in part wrong.
its an easy get out for them, when all said and done, the truth is i think we have quite a group of supporters, who as long as we are winning games in the championship and giving them a entertaining saturday afternoon with friends and family, getting to the premier league and actually living up to our history, isn't really such a priority.

How old is the OP ?

Our local neighbours have won a cup final, but the world is still spinning.

There are far more important real life issues for most of it.

Just ignore them and get on with your life

I don't know may use RAWA to put pressure on the board, by sending e mails for them to pass on along the lines of, evening old bean its been 8 years now, when do you think the time is going to be right for a run a the premier league, just interested when the club think that is. simple easy and will take 5 to 10 mins of folks lifes.
Is RAWA a total waste of time ?

Marra I agree that the club be under more pressure to invest in better players but you’re just annoyed the mags won a trophy tonight. I am as well but they sold their soul for it. Chill out.
This is the thing. They’ve won themselves a cup (probably the least prestigious one available, but still won it nonetheless) but they have taken blood money to get it.

What exactly are the club doing wrong that requires pressure on them? They’ve gone from us on our arse to play offs back to the premier league twice in 5 years. I’m not gonna argue they’ve made serious errors off the pitch, which have been done to death. What exactly do yu want doing so differently?

That’s still not doing something. That’s your emotions, not mine. What do you suggest we DO to get what you want?

For a start, I’d like the official sunderland supporters trust to make it clear to the club that anything less than promotion isn’t acceptable. They were slow to react to the 70% and they’ve been slow to react to other issues in the past. We’ve seen before that they wait to see that fan opinion is with them before speaking publicly.

This leads on to my second point. RAWA can only act on what it believes to be the will of the members. Similar to a trade union. As fans, whether members or not, we should be letting them know what we expect from our football club.

At our level, in the championship and as proven by the recent accounts, the club would cease to exist in its current state without the fans. If the fans go, the SAFC we know will also go.

Sufficient fan pressure would force the club into action, in my opinion.

as i said in the above post, i am just generally wondering how long we are going to have to wait until we see the premer league again, it seems they seem happy enough to continue as is, given what happened in the January window, i maybe wrong but, it's how i see it.

Clapped us out of the PL. Clapped us out of the championship.

Clapped a sunderland fan wishing Charlton fans well in 2019. Clapped them after defeats to Lincoln and Luton in the playoffs.

Critical of any fan who dares to say anything against the club. Defended the ownership after KLD was proven to have lied to the fans (those loans been turned into equity yet?)

It’s time for a bit of pressure on the hierarchy. Time for them to see that it’s not acceptable for SAFC to be plying their trade outside of the PL, and their loyal and numerous fans will not accept anything else.

This doesn’t mean change of manager, change of ownership or change of the overall business plan.

It means that our longest spell outside of the PL in history, or hoping to “find form” going into a playoff campaign, isn’t young to be accepted as acceptable.

6 times champions of England, 2 time FA cup winners, 10th in the overall top flight table, let’s start acting like it. Owners, directors, coaches, players & fans. What we’re currently seeing isn’t good enough and it’s incumbent on us all to sort the fucker out.

You say that as if the miserable bastards ever shut up and stopped complaining, booing, groaning at missed passes, hurling insults at the players...

Maybe it's time you gave a chance to the idea of actually supporting the team?

I am 28. I was brought up in CLS and now live in Washington.

I’m not asking this to you specifically, but I’ve previously wondered if there’s a difference in opinion as to what’s acceptable between sunderland based fans and those from the outlying communities?

I kind of agreed with the sentiment when we were in the Prem. There was clearly an attitude within the club that they could get away with anything as long as we stayed up and beat the Mags.

Not sure that is still the case now. Don't know how we 'make it clear it's unacceptable' or whether that would make any difference anyway.
