The happy clappers have had their time

So how do we vocalise this displeasure? I know you've mentioned RAWA but i think they have fed back to the club about how last season ended, the lack of investment in a striker, lack of experience, the black cats bar debacle etc.. so i think the club know fans havent been happy about what the club has done in the past, all RAWA can do is feed it back to the club during their meetings if this displeasure continues.

Other than that theres portests? chants? we already protest with out feet when the game isnt going well as a lot just get up and leave ten minutes before full time and the atmosphere is poor even when its 0-0 so the club can probably see at the games there isnt a feel good factor.

Honestly I don’t know. I just know I’d like to see an end to people making excuses for them for start.

We spent 10 consecutive years in the PL in most fans living memory. We’ve now spent 8 years out of it, which is our worst period ever.

You’re (sic) acceptance of that is what I disagree with.
And what actions do you take to 'not accept' our position? Other than post on a message board. This ownership took us over when we were languishing in L1. First year they had play-offs, next year they got us promoted, the next year play-off, the next year it was poor and we were mid-table, this year play offs. They have completely repaired a decimated academy and we now have a highly valued squad with a chance of promotion. Progress has been made. It may not be as quick as you wish but it is undeniable that we have made progress as a club under this ownership.

So, I return to my question, what actions have you taken that show you do not accept our level of progress and what actions will you be taking if we don't go up?

Ok, so here my point really.

Me accepting our current status:

Club remains the same.

Me just saying this is unacceptable:

Club remains the same.

I don't get it.
He's not interested in changing anything, he's only concerned about dictating the tone on a football message board and having everyone agree that he's right.

I disageee that nobody accepts mediocrity. On here there’s plenty of fans who will regularly say “we used to be in league one” or “we finished 16th last season”. There’s a long list of excuses to justify where we are and imo, nothing should excuse it. It’s not good enough.
It’s not excuses, it’s context. It’s all well and good talking about league titles that came nearly a century ago but it’s got no relevance to now.

The current board started from the worst place in our history. Where we were when they came in is absolutely relevant - as is the budgets of the clubs with parachute payments. We’re losing money hand over fist year on year as it is.

By and large they’re making progress year on year (one horrific appointment aside). Everyone wants improvement, the board included, but they can’t just click their fingers and make it happen. They’re running us very sensibly at the moment and we’re getting closer to where we want to be.

8 years outside the PL. Factually it’s the worst period in our history and still you come up with a list of excuses as to why it’s okay.

The hierarchy will read this board (and I know they do) and think, “see, they’re happy with where we are”.
I'm always slightly amused with how much some people on here think that the SMB influences decisions at the club.

The opinion on here was very strongly against giving the entire North Stand and BCB to the Mags prior to the derby - did the hierarchy not read that and think "see, they're not happy about it"?

The opinion on here was very strongly against the appointment of Beale - did the hierarchy not read that bit either?

It appears the hierarchy only read the bits that you decide they do and then act accordingly?

"Hey Kyril, good news! We don't have to worry about the 5 year promotion plan! Some knacker on the SMB reckons they're happy with Championship football!"

Agree it's not good enough but people are being realistic.... we don't have an owner that is going to splash 10's millions like Birmingham for example, nor are we backed by a nation state. It's a sustainable business, whether we like it or not.
This is a big summer for the model if we don't go up because we will lose a few. If they start the model again by going for 3m 18/19 year old which ultimately weakens the squad then I think people will switch off tbh.

Must keep improving as there will be no appetite from fans to start a rebuild from the start again after the last 3 years.

This just can't be ignored, if the progression continued as it is in 4 years we will be all over the moon.

It's just not happening fast enough for some people.

I dont get it, read it many times before and an actual plan or sensible explanation of why they're getting so irate about others not sharing their opinion has never been provided.

I didn't "accept" Donald at the club and did what I could to change it, which transpired to absolutely fuck all.

I know we can’t say for certain, but I really cannot see how this squad at the moment could possibly win a two legged tie against any of the sides currently in the playoff picture. We just don’t want it badly enough.

It only takes a few wins and a positive performance to turn things around. We're not going up automatically, have to focus on qualifying to the playoffs and kicking off/turning against the club and team aren't going to help anyone.

It'll also make us look embarrassingly bad as a fan base.

Agree 100%.... if we don't go up and lose Rigg, Jobe, Cirkin, Hume, Neil, this place will implode and they'll lose a lot of goodwill and fans. I think attendances will plummet early on in the season.

Clapped us out of the PL. Clapped us out of the championship.

Clapped a sunderland fan wishing Charlton fans well in 2019. Clapped them after defeats to Lincoln and Luton in the playoffs.

Critical of any fan who dares to say anything against the club. Defended the ownership after KLD was proven to have lied to the fans (those loans been turned into equity yet?)

It’s time for a bit of pressure on the hierarchy. Time for them to see that it’s not acceptable for SAFC to be plying their trade outside of the PL, and their loyal and numerous fans will not accept anything else.

This doesn’t mean change of manager, change of ownership or change of the overall business plan.

It means that our longest spell outside of the PL in history, or hoping to “find form” going into a playoff campaign, isn’t young to be accepted as acceptable.

6 times champions of England, 2 time FA cup winners, 10th in the overall top flight table, let’s start acting like it. Owners, directors, coaches, players & fans. What we’re currently seeing isn’t good enough and it’s incumbent on us all to sort the fucker out.
Fans like you are why we fail
