The happy clappers have had their time

Clapped us out of the PL. Clapped us out of the championship.

Clapped a sunderland fan wishing Charlton fans well in 2019. Clapped them after defeats to Lincoln and Luton in the playoffs.

Critical of any fan who dares to say anything against the club. Defended the ownership after KLD was proven to have lied to the fans (those loans been turned into equity yet?)

It’s time for a bit of pressure on the hierarchy. Time for them to see that it’s not acceptable for SAFC to be plying their trade outside of the PL, and their loyal and numerous fans will not accept anything else.

This doesn’t mean change of manager, change of ownership or change of the overall business plan.

It means that our longest spell outside of the PL in history, or hoping to “find form” going into a playoff campaign, isn’t young to be accepted as acceptable.

6 times champions of England, 2 time FA cup winners, 10th in the overall top flight table, let’s start acting like it. Owners, directors, coaches, players & fans. What we’re currently seeing isn’t good enough and it’s incumbent on us all to sort the fucker out.

I think if you asked most reasonable supporters at the start of the season that we would miss out on auto's but have a playoff place pretty much locked up with 9 games left, then they'd have all taken it.

Its been a rubbish weekend, we're all feeling the same.

We may very well end up getting promoted this season, please wait until the season is over before posting knee jerk shite like this.

On this board I think fans are split into 2 main groups. “Happy clappers” and “Bed wetters”. I may have worded my title wrong but that’s how things tend to go on here imo
You have some good points but don't be forced into that bracketing crap because you're posting on this forum.

I'm still putting you in the category of frothing because the Mags won a trophy and you're losing perspective.

I have had a season ticket for 10+ years and I’m currently on 48 loyalty points for following the lads away.

How many do you have?

Mate, I’ve got 65 points (not that this matters) and my season ticket number isn’t 28 digits long like yours.

I’ve had my season ticket since the SOL opened, which pisses on your “10+” crack.

So if you want to go down that route I’m here all day.

Hi @DonaldDownTheWing could you please reply before getting one of your mates to pretend they have more loyalty points than me.

Cheers
I’ve seen enough of the shit Sunderland can serve up in my lifetime to know that we’ve gone on another end of season slump. Our only hope is that we find some kind of way to preserve some energy and to play 3 games the way we did against Sheffield first game of the season. We won’t though.
You have no idea thought do you

I thought the same in 2022 and 2023. We finished strongly both times.

Brilliantly put.

Can’t agree with the OP enough. I said it myself and got pelters last year.

Many of us have this cuck mindset where we enjoy misery. Enjoy being downtrodden. Enjoy watching others prosper.

Broken because the Saudis have won a trophy.
Oh dear.
Be a supporter.

Bloody hell, the Mags Mickey Mouse trophy win has hit some hard hasnt it, the day you let the game absolutely eat you up inside is the time to stop watching it, some ridiculous people on here clearly letting it consume them, ridiculous man.

For a start, we stop this woe is me attitude that we can never compete at the top of the championship because some teams have parachute payments.

Following that, we can move on and stop using the fact that we dropped to league one, or let a league one manager take us to 16th in the league, as an excuse for where we are now.
It is a bit strange the amount of people that post stuff like we were in league one etc. I don’t think many other fans bases have as many apologists for failure like we do. Can’t spend money we once bought will grigg 😂 can’t question the owners we once had the chuckle brothers etc. It’s a strange take mind and I’m not talking about the opposite end when people scream for sackings or millions to be spent etc that lot are just as bad.

I think people need to wake up though, as a suddicker due to life stuff I’ve moved to houghton and now further out to Peterlee and the amount of mags I’ve seen in both has been rising and will continue to do so. As some else put it it’s been like the 90s but now they have blood state behind them. We have a huge problem with the next generation in these former strong holds. I remember the 90s I was a kid and my cousins lived in houghton a five minute bus ride from Sunderland and it was overrun with mags during the hype period. The have a chance now to actual go on and win things we were not that far behind at the time and pulled pretty much level with them during the Reid days. There is absolutely zero chance of pulling level unless we are sold to another oil state etc but us treading water in the second tier will start to look less and less appealing to the next generation.
