Anyone out of contract can go (Matthews, Ruiter, Reece James?) and all the loanees too. Cattermole and Oviedo need to go - having players on £30-40k a week in League One is just stupid and it's not as either of them are that good either, sick of the sight of Cattermole tbh. I'd get shot of Loovens, Baldwin, Love, Honeyman and Gooch if possible - tempted to add Flanagan, Power, McGeouch and Wyke to that list but on balance would probably keep them all as squad players. I'd give Grigg and Watmore another season to prove themselves.

There should be one big priority this summer for outgoing players - Cattermole number 1 and Oviedo number 2.

They're both earning way above what League 1 football gets you and neither of them are worth anywhere near their wages.

We could virtually fund the wages of a whole team just by getting rid of Cattermole alone.

Either than that, a mass clear out is not what's is needed. We were right in the hunt for automatic promotion so we aren't far off. A much better CM player who can movenus forward with the ball would make a massive difference for one. And then a player with some pace out wide would also be a big improvement. I'd prefer us to get someone better than Wyke as well.

Just a counter point to that. Cattermole has played really well & has chipped in with a lot of key goals. Think he got 6-7 this year which is good for a CM. No guarantee we'd sign better (very little chance in reality) and no guarentee that the wages would be reinvested into the squad.

Loovens out-Curtis Nelson Oxford Free
Dunne our-Tom Lockyer Bristol Rovers Free
Matthews out-Nathan Thompson Pompey Free
Morgan out-Jordy Hiwula Coventry £400k
Sinclair out- Bright Enobakhare Wolves Free

That’s just replacing like for like positions wise but would add Pace and movement what we’re crying out for!

We need more St Mirren players

Getting the ones on premier league wages out the door who have time left on their contracts is going to be almost impossible unless you think they will be coveted by premier league clubs or will take a pay cut for a move to a championship club.
The ones at the end of contract will be gone or more unlikely stay on a new reduced deal.

Cattermole did have a good season BUT he's on a wage where we could sign 6-8 new players. For that money he shouldn't be good he should be f***ing outstanding. For that reason alone he has to be moved on if possible. Perhaps a loan to somewhere for a year covering his wage?

Can tell Mcgeouchs been out the team on here. Everyone loves him again

Got dogs abuse on here most of the season when he played and hardly been picked/fit.

Wasn’t that impressed with him either tbh

I'm not blowing smoke up his arse because he was injured, I've always thought he's our tidiest center mid.

You could also tell he was out the team when we won two on the trot with him in the team and then we conceded five the first game he missed.

Folk on here thinking Leadbitter is better than him is hilarious. Same folk who probably thought Maguire was better than McGeady earlier this season.

Get that mate but I was under the impression that Cattermole & Oviedos wages were surplus and weren't budgeted for. So our budget without them would have been near enough the budget anyways

Cattermole is playing 1st division football on 40k a week and looks no better than other players in the same league earning a fraction of his salary.

Season over so onto the next. Need to build a side that can win games & that can step up into the higher league. If we had went up this year, looking at the current personnel, we would struggle.

For me I'd get rid of the players that I wouldn't have even as squad players in the championship so

Flanagan
Baldwin
Ozturk
Loovens (out of contract anyways)
Matthews (out of contract anyways)
Honeyman

Also wouldn't resign Sterling, Morgan or Dunne on loan

Oh f***ing come on, he came back in against Accrington and Rochdale, two shite teams not really fighting for anything and then got injured, not the same as an inform Coventry team full of pace and trickery in excellent form. He keeps losing his place mostly down to injury and the fact he's been nothing more than average, probably disappointing after his billing and pre-season, he's made of chocolate. As for Leadbitter being better, I don't think there's a lot to choose between them - McGeouch might read the game better and have slightly better mobility, but Leadbitter is more likely to create something as he's able and willing to play a forward ball. McGeouch rarely plays anything but a simple square or back ball, whereas Leadbitter can handle a football in tight situations and has been good on set pieces mostly.

First on the get rid list should be the clapping Farne Island seals in our fan base that are happy to accept mediocrity.

He's looked a lot better than the rest of our midfielders
