part of our problem is letting 15 players go and then having to put another team together each season. no one settles, we end up brain farting at the crucial moments. I'd keep anyone who is within the wage structure and look to add quality first.

McLaughlin - Keep
Ruiter - Out of contract
Stryjek - Out of contract
Love - Sell
Matthews - Out of contract
Flanagan - Keep
Baldwin - Keep but sell if we get a good offer
Ozturk - Keep
Loovens - Sell/release
Oviedo - Would like him to stay but on too much
Hume - Keep
James - is he out of contract?
Cattermole - Same as Oviedo
Leadbitter - Keep
Robson - Give him pre season to prove himself
Power - Keep
McGeough - Keep
O'Nien - Keep
Mumba - Loan out for experience
Gooch - Keep
McGeady - Keep
Watmore - Keep
Maguire - Keep
Embleton - Hope we keep this lad!
Honeyman - Keep but sell if we get a good offer
Molyneux - Out of contract
Grigg - Keep
Wyke - Sell
Kimpioka - Hope he signs a new contract

We need to add pace and power to the side!

This bastard manager better sign players to suit his style and formation like. No excuses for this club being utter idiots in the market again. Especially with this Celtic DoF here.

You have to expect that Oviedo and McGeedy will both get better offers in the summer, and will likely move on. Also, the club will probably want Catt's off the wage bill and will come to some deal on that one.

So that's 3 players that need replacing on top of everyone who was here on loan.

Its already a huge rebuilding task before we start looking to move on players that we're not convinced about. Yet again, looking at 10+ players coming in over the summer.
The three of em will never earn this much again. They’ll be here til brexits sorted. We’ll nivver see the last of em.

Season over so onto the next. Need to build a side that can win games & that can step up into the higher league. If we had went up this year, looking at the current personnel, we would struggle.

For me I'd get rid of the players that I wouldn't have even as squad players in the championship so

Flanagan
Baldwin
Ozturk
Loovens (out of contract anyways)
Matthews (out of contract anyways)
Honeyman

Also wouldn't resign Sterling, Morgan or Dunne on loan

Change the formation and play something that actually wins football matches.
Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea all play 4-3-3.
Yeah I picked 4 of the biggest teams in the prem, but that’s what we should be in this league.
Every team should be shitting themselves and coming to defend all game. But that didn’t happen they realised if they pressed and ran at us we’d give them plenty of chances.
4-3-3 with a high press and a high defensive line. It gets the best out of McGeady as he doesn’t need to track back.
I’m saying all this and it doesn’t really matter just get people who know how to move and cover for each other, absolute basics of football!

The trouble is there is no style or formation.

And looking at his signings in January doesn't bode well - Sterling, Dunne, Grigg, Morgan, and Leadbitter.

Just random signings, none of whom was what was needed.

He doesn't have a clue how to put this right.

Cattermole, McGeady, Oviedo and Honeyman, Grigg n Wyke don’t see them doing it for us !

Team needs more pace and intelligence that’s a must, yes Ross has failed managing teams to wins but the players have also let so many teams back in after going ahead which shows a lack of intelligence, drive and leadership

Get an experience leader at CB and CM Hume in at left back and some pace up front ( missing since Maja ) and down the flanks and we’ll do better than this season

Has Maja suddenly become fast since he left? His game was never about pace, he wasn’t/isn’t especially quick at all.

He just had very quick feet when it came to trapping a ball and setting himself for a shot.

Nail in head. The club made a huge mistake before a ball was even kicked by making Honeyman Captain. He is no leader, is too quiet on the pitch and doesn’t lead or motivate by example either. We need a battling captain to get us through this league and change those draws to wins.

The club will do all it can to rid the high earners... Sadly it includes McGeady, Cattermole & Oviedo... Could actually be worse off next season if our replacement signings not up to it

I think Catts, Oviedo will be gone due to high wages, McGeady never know if he is loving his footy at Sunderland then he might stay but he will have lots of interested clubs from the championship in for him, If we get good offers for Honeyman and Gooch sell, Wyke sell, Baldwin sell, Matthews to go, worried Onien and Big Jon in goal will get offers for but have to keep them both.

Onien needs to start centre mid next season and I would play him with Robson and Power in a centre 3

Agree with all the above plus

Wyke
Gooch
Oviedo
Power

Though there are going to be ins and outs, we need to get away from the mindset that we just need to get rid of players whatever the cost, and need to start thinking about how to find formations and ways of playing that get more out of players that are misfiring now. Honeyman is a good example. He can’t play in the number 10 role, but his energy, pressing, and ability to finish could be more effective further back.

For too long we’ve bought players on the back of other teams finding effective ways to use them, and then have just forced them into alien systems, before discarding them at an enormous loss. Griggs is the obvious recent example, but you could go all the way back to Laslandes, at least.

This is a good point about Honeyman. Arguably one of our best performances was against Barnsley at home in November. Midfield two of Honeyman and Power with Maguire, Gooch, McGeady and Maja ahead of them.

Also shows how far we regressed - by the weekend, from the above front six, Mcgeady, Gooch and Maja were replaced by Catts, Leadbitter and Wyke - almost like he wanted to take energy and pace out of the team.
