The full English breakfast - the truth

Parsnip was asked to vote for their favourite items with the premise that 5 items would be added to the 4 staples (sausage, bacon, toast, tea)

The results are in. A full English is as follows

Sausage
Bacon
Beans
Fried egg
Mushrooms
Black pudding
Fried bread
Toast
Tea

Some observations:
- Tomatoes just missed out
- There are a significant number of idiots on this board who voted for hash browns. Thankfully, unlike brexit, the sensible people romped home
- No one, remarkably, fell into the trap of voting for chips

So there we go. That's science right there

Fried bread and toast? Other than that, bang on for me.

Was there a sauce element to this? I used to be red, but more brown these days with an occasional swerve off to English mustard on the sausage.

Also if it's to be classed as scientific, we would need to analyse in greater detail the individual components:-
  • Sausage - Cumberland or Lincolnshire, a good spicy/herby meaty mix
  • Bacon - unsmoked back
  • Beans - Branston
  • Fried egg - sunny side up, runny yolk
  • Mushrooms - big black field buggers
  • Black pudding - even the white bits are black
  • Fried bread - meh
  • Toast - granary or other robust brown/wholemeal with unsalted butter
  • Tea - massive mug of piping hot builders tea

We can do as many sub threads as you like matey. It's important stuff after all

Sausage
Bacon
Tomatoes
Hard boiled eggs
Hash browns
Toast
Tea

This would be my ideal breakfast.

I also don't like butter on my toast either

I was about to bemoan the lack of hash browns but if it's a full English then fair enough they are missing.

I think your choice of core elements is a bit off but otherwise not a bad attempt.
We've discussed this many times on here and there's always some tramps/Yewtree dwellers who out themselves.
Please check this blog for guidance on the true core elements and what is allowed on a Full English.

Not completely necessary but hash browns are a very welcome extra on a full English, also coffee rather than tea.

Not something I'd put on a breakfast i was cooking but onion rings on the nissan breakfasts were bloody lovely.
