After the court case, which may mean he will be left out of the England squad, I read.

Will that then allow him to play for Durham whilst the potential England ban is in place?

Surely they can just classify all the England games he couldn't play after the incident occurred as the cricketing punishment for any misdemenaurs?

I think people are jumping in a bit early here.

I've been very clear that I think Stokes will be found guilty. He brayed someone - that is an issue of law. His only defence is self-defence and given the video we've all seen, he looks to be in a spot of bother there. Whether the lads deserved it in the court of public opinion and/or morality is neither here nor there for the law.

But where that stuff should matter is with the ECB. If he has just brayed some homophobes - and receives, by way of example only, a suspended sentence and community service - why are the f***ing blazers moving in? The court should set his punishment.

If however, it turns out he is the homophobe and/or aggressor - well, yes, that might be a bit trickier.

But we don't know. Everything reported today could easily be bollocks - we've only heard one side. The only thing we know is he brayed them.

It’s not as complicated as that

The 2 gay lads have already stuck up for stokes and said he was defending them

So nothing to see with regards to that, they just haven’t had chance to give evidence yet

The ecb are morons

Well, yes - but what they say in the Telegraph and what they say in court could be different - we don't know yet.

But it doesn't alter the fact he brayed them. Which is still a crime unless the amount of force was reasonable for purposes of self-defence (or defending others). I find it difficult to believe it was personally, but we all see these things differently.

All about my opinions but stokes said in his statement (without me knowing) what I said at the time which was, he wasn’t sure where once was, if he’d come back with another bottle, so he tried to end it

He was right, the lad tried to come back with a metal leg

Good post mate

The FTECB should be saving their potential "actions" until the case is concluded

Doesn't bode well.

I find it worrying that Stokes' defence team aren't calling the two lads in as witnesses (so I've heard...)

They'll have to, they can't punish him without knowing what he's guilty of nor will they prejudice the case.
