The final straw..

I can agree with a lot of that, but you're delusional if you think he's going to significantly reduce the asking price.

He's clearly done alright as a businessman, but the last 10 years make me doubt he's an alright economist. Everything he's put in to date is a sunk cost, but he's not acting like he recognises that. £170m = £0 if no-one is willing to pay it, and the club is visibly sinking by the month.

It happened before in 2003, so your spot on.
Then they came crawling back.

Must be hard for the OP here, having your heart ripped out by this shovel of shite were watching to the point where you`ve properly had enough everyone has their limit and clearly yours has been hit, I respect your thoughts, personally I couldn't do it. I do have a mate of mine who's a mag and is currently on his own similar protest against Ashley although he does go to the odd cup game now and again. I`ll put money on that the first Saturday you're dragged out shopping your protest will end though and you'll be back:lol::lol:
Some of us can remember 17 defeats in a row.

Now that was really something to bitch about like a little girl.

He may be over the hill but career wise he must rank as one of our most successful players winning both the cups and the Prem League.

My worry is that he isn't fit.

His only other company available to public scrutiny is Skibo Castle and after spending a fortune buying it and refurbishing it it has made increasing losses every year for the last 10 years.

Obviously somewhere a long the line he must have made a lot of money , but I sometimes wonder if he's not as wealthy as believed and his billionaire status is in fact fantasy.

He's probably learning the hard way that football is not an ordinary business.

No I'm not. He's not going to get what he wants for the club if we go down.
He'll have to either invest then, or we don't get promoted.
Or don't invest and watch us struggle in the championship, and he still won't get what he wants
Your absolutely correct. Shorts investment will be next to worthless if he dosn't gamble by players coming in. Ellis has hit the "Shit or Bust" time and he knows it.

At times in the past the club has made me worried, embarrassed, fearing the worst etc etc Sometimes things got better and sometimes they didn't.

This season is different, I don't know why but I just feel numb, its not just the team it is the whole setup and its like if I can just ignore it maybe somehow it will get better.

We have a history of spending money at the wrong time and therefore on the wrong players.

So early in the window when the players we really need become available we don't spend, this increases the unattractiveness of us as a possible destination for players and by the end of the window we are choosing from players who have no other options.

This is when we spend and it usually ends up being a complete waste.

M'Vila was an opportunity to get a player way above our normal standard but we missed it twice because funds were "not" available. Snodgrass is exactly the type of player and character we need but no funds available - roughly the same amount we are likely to cough up or coughed up for Alvarez or Lens or Giacherini etc etc etc.

Moyes can't succeed with the current parameters, nobody could.

You have a point. A lot of the older lads who go will call it a day if we go down. I might be wrong but I know 3 lads who will give up their season tkts if we go down.
It's not just about what's going on at the club but as you get older the buzz weakens, pubs and pints are a bit of a drag, you notice the price of everything, you feel the icy blasts more etc.
I gave up my season tkt a few seasons back and I have no regrets. I pick and choose now and look forward to the games I go to but that's more to do with seeing my son than the football.
You have got to call it a day sometime as you get older, if we go down a lot will.
Are you 105?
