"Clear and obvious error" is really pissing me off. Not only because they mean the same thing so they could just say clear error, but also because it's just totally ignored.

If it's a clear mistake, you can tell straight away. If you can't, then don't tell the referee to review the decision.
When var was introduced i thought "Maradona handball, leon osman crisp packet, jozy arsenal" but no, 2 mm slight fouls and unseen handballs 20 minute's before the goal are the things fifa get hard on

Problem with VAR is that refs are just going to guess on decisions like that knowing that VAR can bail them out if they've made a massive cock up. Then when they've watched the 20th slow-motion replay it confirms that maybe the defenders big toe brushed against the striker so the decision stands. Absolute shit.

The foul was at 70:05 so it was 2 minutes 22 seconds to decide to go to VAR and then another 1 min 40 secs for the ref to go over and check and give the penna so 4 minutes to do the square root of fuck all. The penna then took another 1 minute 30 seconds to be taken so 5 minutes 30 seconds in total from foul to penna being taken.

Also anyone notice how the clock went 70:03 to 70:05 as it missed out the 70:04. It's not the first time this has happened but why is it happening?

VAR will NOT go against the favourites, it won't here, it won't in the premier League.
It'll just be used to support the governing bodies decisions

'VAR will even the playing field' iirc

Ref wasn't bothered about the ball being on tbe spot for the first penalty, somewhere nearby was good enough.
The 1st penna the ball was on the spot, albeit not fully on. Are you another Nokia 3310 user?

This is the image I hoyed up earlier in the thread and that time the ref was right over the ball when Rapinoe placed it on the spot. I guess it's the same as a keeper only needs to be touching a few blades of white grass to be classed as being on the line.

Various angles of the ball on the penna spot LINK

And if the ref made Rapinoe respot the ball for the second penalty, why was the first goal allowed to stand? It was in the same place. They're just so frustrating in their unfair and inconsistent application of VAR.

They've been using it for long enough that I thought they'd have pretty much sorted out the issues by now, but it's worse than ever with the new ultra precise rules.

Hoy, the ref for the second penalty said that penalty needed moving and it was less off tbe
