I left on 80 minute mark, purely for the fact I drop down through Hendon to get home to Seaham, and thanks to the temporary traffic lights it's beyond horrendous at the moment, so purely to beat the masses of traffic I got stuck in on the way to the match.

Not that I have to justify myself for leaving a venue I've PAID to attend..

It's not just the restriction of your view that's the problem.

It chips away at the atmosphere and creates a feeling that it's almost all over.

In games like last night that's the last thing we need especially if it has even the slightest effect on the players.

It's just incredible that people who are investing a minimum of 3 or 4 hours of their time can't mange an extra 10 minutes.

It can't look good to any prospective buyers can it?

I think that the team needs to become more adept at encouraging fans not to leave, and in terms of potential investors I would think higher up on the list is our gross incompetence at assembling a competitive and entertaining squad.

If a band rocked up with collective laringitis it is not likley the crowd would swell or hang around.

I don't think prospective buyers would take early leavers in to consideration. If people are moving past you, move your head slightly. Don't understand the problem tbh

I really think buyers would be looking at how many pay to get in not how many are going out.

I thought that, as I typed, but it sometimes makes us look a little weak & fickle while the majority aren't.

Heard it all now.

"I'm not paying £100m for a club who have 5% of their 40-odd thousand fans leaving ten minutes before full time. I want a club where 30 thousand stay till the end FFS. Now, find me one".

Nowt like wildly exaggerating summat to 'prove a point' ....... a cracker there mate

hods of people working nights mate , thousands

How many thousands?

Just admit that you're talking shite again. When Short bought the club, do you think he was nearly put off by people leaving a bit early?

I said it can't look good and it doesn't.

The TV almost always shows it and the commentator almost always makes a comment.

Sunderland is getting a name for it and other supporters often mention it.

If you think that's shite then I'll somehow have to learn to live with that.

As an adult, I never understand this complaint. People who have paid an excessive amount of money to sit outside on a December evening and watch their team defend for 85 mins, somehow are forbidden from leaving the stadium until the match finishes. It might just be the case, for some people, that seeing the last 5 minutes of a match isn't more important than adding 30 minutes onto their journey home.

I gave up my season ticket last year (which I'd had for 20 years) and when I was a kid I'd see people leaving early, and then we'd leave early and I'd asking the same questions 'why'? I digress, back to last season (or the last 2 or 3 tbh). My grandad lives in South Hylton, I live in Lanchester. He can't walk well, so if I leave the stadium when the game finishes, it takes 3 times as long to get out of the ground, and 3 times as long to get the park and ride. It then takes longer in traffic when I get back to the car, to drop him off and get home. By staying an extra 5-7 minutes at the end, I'm adding about 30 minutes to my journey home, and making an old man who can't stand very well, wait in a freezing bus queue for much longer.

Sometimes there are just far more important things than watching 11 men barely touch a ball for 5 more minutes. Even when people don't have a reason for leaving early, they don't need to justify themselves to anyone. They've paid their money, haven't they?

Whilst I fully agree, you should be careful in your use of reasoned arguement, it tends to offend...

Of course they have a right. However, last night we played the leaders, the best team in the league. We created the 2 best chances of the second half. It was 1-0 and we nearly snatched a draw but for a fantastic save by their keeper. If we were 4-0 down fair enough but we had a chance - that's why I couldn't believe how many left 10 minutes early. Its far worse than ever before and I just don't get it. Of course its your right but it is annoying for those who stay and threads like this will continue.

So you'd rather that the x thousand who exercised their right to what they want didn't turn up in the first place...?

As stated earlier, get a life!

Why is it only the early leavers at the end what about 15 mins before half time to queue for a pint ? Alcohol and pies are obviously more acceptable than saving 30 mins on a journey home. Let it fookin go

Best part is I saw

I left at the end & people were in their cars waiting to gan home

Yet I knew left ten minutes before the end

If van aanholt scored those people would have missed the highlight of the game so hope it happens sometime.

They'dve missed loads under Keano

Bet they never leave the pictures early

Or pull out when there having rumpy pumpy

Doesn't make much difference to me but some people doing it are f***ing ignorant. There was a game last season where I randomly ended up in row 1 in the east stand and I missed a goal because some wankers who were walking out decided to stop and stand right in front of me when they could see something was happening on the pitch. If people just want to get up and fuck off then fair enough but when they hang around and disrupt the views of people who actually want to stay till the end it's a pain in the arse

Aye I can understand that like. If it's obscuring views that's not on, but tbf the stewards should tell them. They're totally clueless half of them.

You can't see the bloody match for the last 10 minutes due to people wanting you to move 9ut of the way man.

Tbf i'm in the 4th row up of my section and it never affects me. Appreciate that you may be in the first couple of rows
