The empty seats with 12 minutes to go.

 Oh no, people who actually turned up left when they want. If you're going to have a pop, have a pop at those who didn't go. Even then, the game was on a f***ing Wednesday night.

Not getting entertained, leaves to more people thinking "fuck this, rather get home earlier ". Last night was a training exercise so I see where most are coming from.
We created the best chance of the game in the second half. They also needed a top class save at the end to deny us from getting a point. We played the team who have now won 10 in a row and are 6 points clear and we were so close to a point. Your cynicism is draining. We've had an awful start to the season and we had an awful game against Swansea but we did well last night. The whole point is that we have had games when we have been 4-0 down and I can understand people leaving but last night was just crazy. 5 minutes to go and we're still in against currently the best team in the league and then nearly get a last gasp equaliser. If you are ever going to stay till the end last night was it. As someone else said people are just in a habit, and its not a good one.

A shambles as usual. It took 10 seconds to leave the stadium at full time. Supporters are supposed to support not desert.
Aye, but if it wasn't for the early leavers it would take you considerably longer, so you should be grateful.

I wish a lot more would go early, it takes ages to get down the stairs on the final whistle from the back of the South Stand
Exactly.

Simple as this really.

Of course they have a right. However, last night we played the leaders, the best team in the league. We created the 2 best chances of the second half. It was 1-0 and we nearly snatched a draw but for a fantastic save by their keeper. If we were 4-0 down fair enough but we had a chance - that's why I couldn't believe how many left 10 minutes early. Its far worse than ever before and I just don't get it. Of course its your right but it is annoying for those who stay and threads like this will continue.

Totally understand where you are coming from, I had my reasons to leave early and left on 90 mins. I didn't really enjoy the game though, I thought we were mediocre and if Chelsea wanted to get out of second gear then they would have battered us. Couldn't understand why Moyes persisted in 5 at the back when we were chasing a goal. that second half we looked like the ones who were trying to protect a 1-0 lead. I thought the crowd was pretty quiet last night and that was due to the performance.

Don't see what difference it makes to other people like

Doesn't make much difference to me but some people doing it are f***ing ignorant. There was a game last season where I randomly ended up in row 1 in the east stand and I missed a goal because some wankers who were walking out decided to stop and stand right in front of me when they could see something was happening on the pitch. If people just want to get up and fuck off then fair enough but when they hang around and disrupt the views of people who actually want to stay till the end it's a pain in the arse

Their responsibilities

I hope you're taking the piss there

Not in the slightest ..... as I said earlier, if you don't get the point you're not able to have it explained.

It's like any kind of collective faith, you either believe or you don't.

The crowd at a football match is much more of a community than at anything like the cinema, theatre or whatever.

People meet up, enjoy each other's company and have a pint & a laugh with virtual strangers who, for a brief period, are firm friends

The support is passed down generations and people like me take dad's, kids, family ...... don't tell me other 'entertainment' is in any way the same.

As in any 'community' the strength is in the banding together to support values and traditions ..... once that breaks down it dilutes the whole thing.

Yes I may be a daft romantic but, as I say, you either believe or you don't.

best thing about these threads is working through the thread and seeing if you can tell who the early leavers are with their response

But some people are more easily entertained than others .......
