Sold a pup by Scargill. The carry on with Di Canio though was vitue signalling at its worst.*Miners parade
I'll be making sure that I arrive at the stadium when the feckers have finished. The brass neck, after the way they went on about Di Canio...![]()

By repealing the anti union laws? By talking back ownership of utilities? By reversing austerity? By investing in industry? By saving the NHS? By having a National Education Service?I love my working class roots, however the labour party ( for now ) have turned their backs on us...

Not a chance- there are still plenty of Sunderland Supporters who respect the working class history of the club and our support. That's why the miners Banner was put there in the first place, that's why the pit lamp burns next to the ticket office and that's why the DMA have been invited.Hopefully the grounds empty for it
There's probably a thousand arguments that could be had stemming from this. This is a footy forum though and the thread is about a display celebrating our heritage.By repealing the anti union laws? Sadly mate but just see politics in everything. Or should I say drag politics into everything. There's probably a thousand arguments that could be had stemming from this. This is a footy forum though and the thread is about a display celebrating our heritage.
So who would we back.
The pitmen or a fella with Facist leanings.
I know where my allegiance will be.
I don't think its about working class solidarity mate as that is a myth, just the attitude of the miners having lost the pits to closure... DUM seem to have forgotten just how much the people of Sunderland and other areas around the country gave on a Thursday or Friday (in my case) out of their pay packets from the shipyards who were on less wages than the miners (when the were'nt on strike) for over a year...Glad there's so much working class solidarity on here. Workers of the world unite

Controversial, you'd better believe it.

Labour Party are a bunch of knackers. Ruined Durham at local and national level. Never voted for them since 2007 and doubt I ever will again.

Although a historical socialist movement, I'm presuming tomorrow's events wont directly involve the Labour Party?
Except you of course, hence this postThere were plenty on here backing him and others from the DUM IIRC.
Threatening to take a banner away from the SOL...like any fecker would give a shiny shite!
The banners are not the Labour partyI love my working class roots, however the labour party ( for now ) have turned their backs on us...
I think they probably have to knock up a banner first, I could be wrong thoughWhens the ship yard banners getting a parade, or those for joplings, pyrex, binns and woolies?
Except you of course, hence this post
The banners are not the Labour party
I never said they were
I think they probably have to knock up a banner first, I could be wrong though
And I would suppose those attending will be labour party members. Btw just to let you know I'm not a tory as I despise the twats. I voted labour for years and will again once Corbyn and his Cronies have gone..Although a historical socialist movement, I'm presuming tomorrow's events wont directly involve the Labour Party?
