The die hards in the SWC....

1 of the stewards (the female 1 who has been giving us a bit grief lately) actually asked us today why no one else joins in when we sing? Said she's noticed that the group of us at the back try but no fucker joins in?

shame on the lads trying.

imo it doesnt matter how much ya sing if others round are the type of supporter who simply dont want to sing. aye you can try and come up with a few new songs that might be a bit catchy or whatever but if others are into singing full stop i cant see how it can go. i find it hard to grasp why you wouldnt want to vocally support the team, but as im constantly reminded, everyone is different. the best bet is to do as sleeves has done, which is say where the singers are and hope as seats become available/or are available then more move there. then as numbers of singers grow, it becomes louder and more want in.

anyway, keep plugging away. some would have the place a morgue if they could.

regarding the stewards question. you could tell her that being targetted for nowt doesnt help the situation either.

Okay, I thought the SWC were very good today. Great support.
It backfired after they told Fulham's fans their support was fecking shit then one third of them fecked off in the 70th minute.
The Fulham fans, as wank as they were, did not miss the opportunity to reciprocate.
:oops::oops::oops: all round.
Btw shoot the fecker who keeps shouting Lee Howey then gets the young uns to comment on his brother.
It truly is a waste of time and effort. Move On.

i laughed when the fulham lot were singing 'is there a fire drill' as the SoL emptied. still, those that stayed out did the fulham lot anyway.

Started to pick up but was only the last year and a half when things have started to move from constant Anti-Mag shite.

agreed.

season we moved there you'd have thought it was a mags game every week.

I thought the last 15 minutes in the SWC was class. Even though the ground was half empty, and we were 3-0 down, the support was there, loud and proud. I sit near fairly near the away fans and couldn't hear them at all over our noise.

What I noticed was the complete lack of any acknowledgement from the team for the outstanding support they got for such a crap offering in the second half. I noticed one player throw his shirt into the crowd near the tunnel but the rest disappeared swiftly. Would a little clap in our direction to say 'hey, thanks for the support, even though we were shit we appreciated your efforts' have really been too much to ask? More than half the ground had left. At least have the decency to acknowledge those who stayed!

Saying what I see chief, nowt else

Not a peep out of the fulham fans until they scored, swc sang all first half, and second half of second hand, and were still singing long after the final whistle. Probably the only positive thing that was for me today, people singing long after most had fucked off, the same people saying our players are cowards yet can't stay to the end of a game. The only thing we can do as fans is give support, I'd say the swc did that today.

didn't hear SWC until after the 3rd goal went in - fulham were quite loud for the number they had as were the SWC after the 3rd goal

Weird. The SWC were singing throughout the first half and I thought Fulham were quiet all game

Surely the % of fans that left the SWC is the same as left every stand (roughly). Why are some bitter that the SWC still get behind their club and sing till the end and beyond? Surely its those posters creating the "us and them" for themsleves.

If your looking for an apology for enjoying supporting my team vocally and enjoying it then I'm sorry, but it's fans like those who sang till the end that make me proud to be part of SAFC.

I bet the Fulham fans were seething on the way home at being perceived as being outsung by a section of Sunderland fans, a blow not even a 3-0 victory for their team can truly soften.

Probably not but they weren't allowed to properly celebrate as they couldn't get a song in edgeways

The more times the fans get behind the team the better; however, after today's perfomance on the pitch, I can take no consolation from the support in the stands.

I'm ashamed to be a Sunderland fan reading some of the shite in this thread.

People slagging off their fellow fans. Pathetic.

Aye, lets criticise fans who make an effort to create some sort of an atmosphere and lets continue to let stewards and blue coats do as they please, along with moaning about everything from the taste of the pies at half-time to the colour of the seats.

There's a massive number of complete and utter twats in our ''support'' these days
