The Cliff

In Roker .Any good for Sunda dinner ? Going soon, never been before ??

Can my fellow food enthusiasts share their past experiences of the place please .

Thanks . P.s Coxy

Was in there a couple of weeks ago, food looks great. Decent selection of beers and yeah, probably not the most exciting of places but it's fine in general 😎

VFM central for Sunday Carvery and Wednesday one. we tend to use it more on a Wednesday as our preference on Sunday when at home has live music afterwards.
Their 2 course light bite till 5 (iirc) is very good value anarl

My great uncle loved his Sunday bait in The Cliff. Died a few years back, he used to alternate between the Cliff and the Wolsey for his Sunday bait. Hell or highwater couldn't stop him on his little motorscooter getting up there, god love him.

We turned up on spec one Sunday n was told about an hour for table for 2 so went to the smugglers.
Booked it the following week n was nice 👌🏼
Also the bait in the Wolsey supposed to be good.

Good in general was always brilliant, but they lost one of there good chefs I think. Couple of times I’ve had something and it’s not been anywhere near the usual standard.

As it’s our local I gave it another go mid week and it was back to being class.

That being said I’ve always thought the carvery’s are just ok, not brilliant. The best Sunday dinner by a mile is at prego. Blows the cliff out the water.
