The Championship Final Day - Relegation and Playoff Spots

Yeah it's scary but it's worth pointing out that our lowest league position for nearly 20 years is 3rd top of the championship. Obviously that includes two squads relegated as the worst teams in top flight history (cheers Derby).
It's always a possibility it would go t*ts up but I be fairly confident if, god for bid, we go down we'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season.
You're not allowed to say that on here. Our own recent history is in no way relevant, but other teams history's are and we are promptly reminded of the likes of Leeds, Portsmouth and the Sheffield clubs.

Do all our players have relegation clauses in their contracts forcing a pay cut if we go down? Saw on ssn this morning that zigic still gets £70k a week at birmingham. One of the many reasons they're fucked and going down

All ours are on 40% cut as standard these days aren't they?

Zigic will have some fun banter in League 1 like.

"Listen mate, you can kick me black n blue but I'm considerably richer than yoooooouuuuu"

He'll be on more a week than some of them get a year man.

I would say comparing ourselves to Birmingham if we go down is short sighted. Aren't the vast majority of their problems due to the fact their owner has been facing corruption charges for the past few years and has had his assets frozen?

Yep i agree - Birminghams home form has been woeful but away they seem to pick up points - Donny for the drop
I live and work in donny and sit just next to a donny season ticket holder.

He is mighty optimistic! I think they will go down too

I'm pretty sure Zigic is out of contract at the end of this season and also fairly sure that they won't renew his contract.

They should book an open top tour bus just to celebrate hoying him off the payroll then.

Unless he's happy to sign a 7k a week contract to play in the third tier like.

It is pretty scary like. I read a stat from Sporting Intelligence cited by Roker Report the other day that said if you go down there's a 50% chance of not coming back up and a 30% chance of further relegation!

I'm sure there was some pattern of relegated teams from the Premiership spending three seasons in the Championship before getting relegated to League One. Think Leeds, Leicester, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United all went down a similar path. Birmingham would be the next one.

Which game are you watching? Bolton v Birmingham is listed on Bein Sports 1 so you'd probably get a stream for that one if you want to watch the battle at the bottom.

Do they go to other grounds if there's a goal, be that in the battle for 6th or the battle for the drop? (I'm watching the Forest v Brighton game live on Sky)
